It does have an impact on women and girls who don’t want to share a restroom or locker room with a biological male.

I have a young niece. I don’t want MEN or BOYS in the same restroom as her just because they say they identify as women.

Their so called gender identity does not trump the rights of girls and women.

That’s just how I see it.
They are free to seek out non public restrooms. They are not free to exclude others based on their own discomfort. Some people are not comfortable with other races, we do not make allowances for them either.

As are those who claim to be trans.

Sure they are. Because sex is not the same thing as race. It's called the right to privacy. That's why there are men's and women's bathrooms and locker rooms in the first place. Why do you think most women don't Waltz into the men's locker room and strip naked in front of you?

Comparing a race to someone’s so called gender identity is not the same. Not even close.

Public restrooms have limited right to privacy.

I'm well aware they are not the same. That they are not the same does not invalidate the comparison. You need to give me a reason why one should override and one should not.

You can’t change or choose your race. Having a mental Illness such or fetish such as transgenderism isn’t the same.

I feel compassion for them, but won’t validate their delusion.

That’s my opinion only.

It's not a complaint. It's a fact. Not everyone who claims to be trans has gone to a doctor and received a diagnosis for it.

See, people can and do self diagnose. A fact.
And Affirmative Care does not diagnose anyone. It affirms what the patient already believes.

I wish that were true. But your statement is demonstrably false.
A lot of trans people are attention seeking and have personality disorders. It’s all LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME. Ugh

That's exactly why they split the bathrooms between men and women. As some have suggested, complete separate single bathrooms with walls and doors are as private as it gets. And I'm all for that if that is what businesses want to build. I have absolutely no issue with that. I would never try and stop that. But I also would never try and force them to do that either.

Men use mens restroom and women use womens restrooms. Simple.

I don’t understand why this is so controversial.

A man in a dress and who identifies as a woman is NOT a woman. Period.

Just because he can’t accept reality, doesn’t mean everyone else has to accept his fantasy.

I agree. For true trans person, which I think is actually smaller than the numbers indicate, it's not a fantasy for them. It's their reality.

However their reality is not reality. Much like those who have delusional disorders. It's their reality, but it's not reality. To expect society to treat it as reality is, well further example of denial of reality.

Should we be polite? Sure. I can't thinknof anyone who would go up to a trans person in the grocery line and start relling them they aren't really a woman and should stop.dressing like one. I saw a lot of trans people in Portland when I was visiting. I never once said anything to any of them about it. And if they were a clerk I would just have a polite conversation with them as I would.with anyone. I spent quite some time talking with a trans person a couple of years ago. Never said a thing to them about it. I never once said "your not a woman!"

Why? It wasn't relevant.

It sounds like the woman in that case is the one who gave up her right to privacy. But any women, and men too, are body shy and don't particularly like being naked around others, regardless of gender. Men are expected to put up with it, and even women using men's "private spaces" doesn't seem like such a big deal to anybody. The question is, why are the situations not symmetrical?

You can choose to have a "Mental illness"? (Not a mental illness per medical professionals)

I'm well aware of your stance. No need to repeat it yet again.

None of this is a reason, that I can see, to treat others discomfort as anything other then their own personal issue.

No, that has more to do with Victorian era prudery then anything else.

As some have suggested, complete separate single bathrooms with walls and doors are as private as it gets. And I'm all for that if that is what businesses want to build. How about we just leave it up to the individuals involved? This is such a vanishingly small problem that has been blown out of proportion in the culture war.

It’s a mental illness if they truly believe they are the opposite gender, and a fetish and choice if they sexualize it. Ie transvestites

Some people are uncomfortable around them. It is what it is.

Actual mental health professionals say it is not. I believe them.
Some people are uncomfortable around them. It is what it is.
I fail to see comfort as a metric for limiting others.

They didn't all urinary and deficate together before then either. Before then you didn't have men and women using tye same bathroom sitting side by side on toilet.

And maybe in the wild tribes of Britain they did, but I certainly aren't hoping you are making an argument that the barbarians did it so we should too.

We became civilized and while it's taken time we gave up barbarism.
