  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Awesome! Are they painted that way just for air shows and things like that, or do they actually do operations that way?

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if those liveries are just for airshows.:)

Those are some great shots. I like the camouflage paint in the last photo.
I'm delighted that you like them! :grinning: The camoflage paint in the last photo was one used at TOPGUN in real life.:sunglasses:

Apparently they had a lot of camouflaged paint jobs in WWII. The reason they had these kind of ground based schemes was for when the planes were most vulnerable – on the ground. So often had earth tones. I guess if the attacking plane was above it, it would help then too. Like the one below:

I reckon it would definitely help! :) I'm afraid I can't ID the plane (other than the fact that it's German); I only know modern fighter jets!

I don't know either. However, I once had a model of a German Messerschmidt Bf-109, that looked like it. Though maybe a lot of them looked similar.
Judging by the photo you linked, it probably is a Messerschmidt Bf-109, though as you said, a lot of WWII planes probably looked similar.
