I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if those liveries are just for airshows.

I'm delighted that you like them! The camoflage paint in the last photo was one used at TOPGUN in real life.

Apparently they had a lot of camouflaged paint jobs in WWII. The reason they had these kind of ground based schemes was for when the planes were most vulnerable – on the ground. So often had earth tones. I guess if the attacking plane was above it, it would help then too. Like the one below:

I reckon it would definitely help! I'm afraid I can't ID the plane (other than the fact that it's German); I only know modern fighter jets!

I don't know either. However, I once had a model of a German Messerschmidt Bf-109, that looked like it. Though maybe a lot of them looked similar.

Judging by the photo you linked, it probably is a Messerschmidt Bf-109, though as you said, a lot of WWII planes probably looked similar.
