Pirates of the Carribean

((So do a storyline where Will and Elizabeth are together, Jack has escaped with his ragtag crew and are out at sea wherever, the pirates that were with Barabosa (who are still alive) are in prison at Port Royale or somewhere nearby, and we're going from there? That sounds like a good plan to me...unless anyone else would like to speak up with something else/better. ))

Race: human
Age: 20 yrs. old
Appearence: She's average height and build, has shoulder length blonde hair from many days outside and a few at sea, has hazelish-brown eyes, I'm going to say she dresses a bit like the girl on Pirates of the Carribean-AnneMaire was her name??-except without the hat...she really doens't like hats.
Personality: she's quiet and skillful, part of her wants to be a pirate and the other part of her can't stand the pirate's life, she can hold her own with a sword rather well and is pretty good at throwing daggers but isn't very good at fighting in general, can be very clever and conniving when the situation warrants, loves to travel.
Background Story: Halik was raised with her brother, Ragetti, by their parrents on a coastal town in a small English town where their dad was a fisherman and their mom was a seamstress. Ragetti was going to go into the fishing business, until his ship was attacked by pirates and he was taken aboard with other survivors. Halik wanted to go and rescue her brother, but being young at the time her parents were too scared to let her go far enough. She stayed with them until they died when she was 17 yrs. old. After she took care of her family's land and such, she went out to find her brother. She did, and told him of their parents' death and such, but Ragetti was way too far into the pirate life to want anything else. They parted on friendly terms, although Halik was bitter at him choosing piracy over family. She wanted to become a pirate herself for various reasons, but being young and female were two very large strikes against her. She now travels a lot, doing odd jobs to make enough money to live on in whatever town she happens to stop in. She sees her brother once in awhile, usually helping him escape from somewhere or sneaking a ride to another town with his help.))

Halik sat high in a tree just outside of the small port town, absentmindedly watching people come and go. She wasn't sure if she was looking for someone or not, so she just kept watching. It had started to rain lightly, and with only slight movements she pulled the hood of her cape over her head more.

"Have we found a way out yet?" Ragetti asked, looking out the prison window.

"No, but when I do you'll be the first to know," Pintel said sarcastically, sitting on the other side of the prison cell only a matter of some odd feet away from his partner.

It was very quiet in the prison. Many of the cells were full, most of them pirates in one way or another who refused to give up their trade. It seemed like everyone was thinking the same thing, but nobody was in the mood to talk.

((There's my character(s) and first post again. I'm saying Halik is just outside the town where Misty is sitting in the tavern. I'm guessing that's where everyone is going to kind of meet and the story will start. *shrug*))

Misty sat in the tavern watching men beat men, women beat women, and everyother form of life in the town act like utter savages. Every once in a while she would laugh at the foolishness around her. Finally, it became to violent and she walked out.

She decided to go to her favorite thinking place. A tree just outside the town. She always went there to think.

As she slowly climbed up the tree, she saw something big russel the leaves.

"Hey you!!!! Get outta my tree!!! Ya Scallywag!!!"

Misty was shocked at some of the words that had been flying out of her mouth since she had escaped to Tortuga.

"...and really bad eggs!" The song drifted out over the open waters, providing noise in an otherwise quiet morning. Gibbs paced across the deck, watching the ocean, and the crew on deck. He finally came upon Jack, who had just finished singing his song. He held his compass in his hand, staring intently at it.

"Cap'tain, do we have a heading yet?" Gibbs questioned.

Jack merely shook the compass, looking frustrated. He continued to look at the compass, then began waving his hand around to match the direction the compass was pointing. "Head in a....that way direction," Jack replied. He snapped the compass closed, then walked to his cabin. Gibbs watched his back as he left, then began yelling orders to the crew.

Halik was quite surprised at the noise below her. She quickly jumped up another couple of branches, knowing only that it wouldn't be wise to head the other direction at this time.

"Forgive me, I seem to have missed the engraving in the trunk of this tree labelling it as yours," Halik replied with a sigh, "I have to claim on it anyway, and my business is elsewhere, so if you would kindly let me down unharmed, I shall leave immediately."

She stepped down a branch to see the tree's supposed owner.

((I know I'm posting twice in a row, but I saw the second one last night. I'm still not fully sure what to say or how to express myself.))

 

[Everloving]

"First, answer me this: Do you know the whereabouts of a pirate named Jack Sparrow??"

 

[FireRock]

Halik sighed at the first part of this character's response, but she cocked her head a bit at the mention of Captain Jack Sparrow.

"You mean Captain Jack Sparrow?" she asked. Tilting her head to the other side she thought for a moment, then answered, "Sure I've seen him around. My brother use to sail under his command. Haven't heard much about him lately. He went through quite the hassel, what with the mutiny and all. I know he makes port in Tortuga often, but now that he has his ship back, I'd say he's going to stay out at sea for as long as he can." Halik stepped down another branch and was no able to see the girl face to face.

"Hmmm..." she started, looking the girl over, "And what business would you have with the Captain?" Halik quickly waved the question away and reached out her foot for another lower branch, "Nevermind. No worry of mine. Like I said, my business is elsewhere. May I pass now?"

 

[Everloving]

"Fine, but do you know when they might be making port again. Or even where I might go to find him??"

 

[FireRock]

"Hmmm...I couldn't say, really," Halik replied, wondering what this girl's obsession with the Captain was all about, "I believe the last time I saw him was was two ports south of here, and that was at least two months ago." She looked around the other side of the tree, found a way down and jumped down most of the way.
She looked back up at the stranger and finally said, "The port I speak of is a small, quiet little place with hardly a visitor, save under special circumstance, or so I've heard. I'm in the way of seeing my brother here in this town. He may know where the Captain would be around now." Halik shrugged and gave a brief smile, then looking toward the gate again.

"Then if you don't mind, I would like to speak with this brother of yours."

 

[FireRock]

Halik sighed loudly. Of course this wouldn't be easy. It hadn't been easy from the begining and it just kept getting more and more difficult.
She jumped down out of the tree and looked back up at the girl. "Right," she said, taking a quick glance around and then looking back up, "Well, my name's Halik in case you ever need to know." She paused for a moment, "One quick question before we get on our way...Are you much in the way of law-abiding? I only ask because if you are, you may have to errgo that trait for our brief time together in seeing my brother."

 

[Everloving]

"With my heritage, that should be no problem. But exactly how far from the law do you expect me to stray. There is a point of no return and I don't plan on crossing it."

 

[FireRock]

"Then by all means, follow me," Halik said with a grand arm gesture. She turned and led the girl through town, eyeing the wall surrounding the town and the different official looking people walking around.
They arrived at a massive stone building with people around everywhere. "This is the government building. You know, taxes, court, prison, and all that," she explained, looking around for something specific, "And this is where my bother is...somewhere."
Halik began poking around, keeping an eye out for anyone who might find their presence offensive. After exaiming two sides of the building, she rounding the next corner and her eyes locked onto what she was looking for. She looked behind her and then walked up to and crouched down by a window with bars on the ground. Peering inside, she spotted hime.
"You just can't keep yourself out of trouble, can you, pirate?" she asked with a grin.
"Halik?" a voice answered from inside, "You found me...again?"
"Don't I always, my brother?" she replied, taking a look at the bars and the surrounding wall, "How do you keep getting into these messes? I might not be able to help you out next time."
"Aww...you're always there for me, sister," the voice replied.
"Hmmm...sometimes unfortunately I think," Halik said, then turned to the stranger that had accompanied her, "This is my brother, Ragetti. I know there's another pirate named Pintel in there somewhere. If the two of them aren't together, one of them's dead," Halik smiled, "My new acquaintance here has the need to find the Captain and I thought you two would be able to help her out."
Halik stood up before they could answer and took a few steps in either direction. She looked back at the stranger and asked, "Speaking of law-abiding, how good might you be with breaking out of prison?"

((I hope that's not god-modding. I wanted to speed things up so we could find Jack Sparrow sooner so that Tiger4Jesus can get in the story more. If you want your character to do something different, Everloving, I can change my post...no worries.))

((Nope. It's fine!!!))

Misty turned to the others.

"Oh... you mean me?? Sorry, I should have told you my name. Misty. Just Misty. That's all you need to know. And yes, I'll help you break them out. Can't really find Jack without 'em. I've got an idea. But it'll be risky. Really risky. But hopefully it'll work. Halik, follow me!!!"

 

[FireRock]

Halik glanced over at her brother and shrugged with a smile. Then she turned back and followed Misty, already curious about her risky plan.

Even if it failed, it'd probably be quite a lot of fun. Unless they ended up in jail. That part wouldn't be so great.

 

[Everloving]

Misty led Halik to a small alley.

"I've been here for quite some time as an escaped pirate captive and I was on a pirate ship for a while too. Needless to say I've learned some things. My favorite was how to use dynamite. Anyway, long story short, I'm gonna go down to the saloon cellur where they hide the explosives, steal some, and blow your brother out of there!!! But it's gotta be done fast. If they catch us, we'll be hanged. You with me???"

((Wow, that was so random and jumpy. Sorry. I'll do better on my next post. This one was rather rushed.))

Halik gave Misty a blank stare for the most part, but nodded in agreement with her plan. What did they have to lose...well, besides their necks...

"Sounds like an exciting plan," Halik said, smiling and going over it in her head again, "While you're down in the cellar, where will I be? Distracting anyone important I suppose?"

 

[Everloving]

"Ha ha!! Knew you'd ask that!! See, you'll be in the saloon already and you've gotta somehow cause a fight without gettin involved. As soon as you se me leave, you've gotta get out. But do be careful, many of these bar fights turn to shooting wars. Ready?? Let's go!!"

Misty led Halik to the dynamite carrying saloon and they both went in. Misty snuck past everyonr and made a clean gettaway into the cellar. My, how much trouble finding her father was turning out to be!!! She found the dynamite and sat, waiting for the fight to begin so she could get away.
