At what ages did you get your childrens pictures done?

So far with Christian we did it at 1 month, 2 months and I am going this evening to get her 6 month pictures done. Her 3 month picture I took myself, see my avitar.

We got his picture taken at 6 months, and 1 year. If I had to do it over again, I would have skipped the one year and did it myself, I think I could have done just as good of a job. In fact, we paid a lot for the pictures both times, and I am going to see if we couldn't just afford to get a camera with the features I will need to do professional level and still be saving money by doing it ourself! It was ridiculous!

The 6 month ones his cousin, one month older, was in town, and so we got some of them together and those are priceless.

None the less, ideally if I can get a better camera I won't take any of my kids to get professional pictures ever again... argh!

that is why we did the 2 month pictures, because my sister and her family were in town, they live in GA and we live in IA, and so we got Christian and Jessica's pictures done together, likewise they are also a month apart in age.

I did Andie's 6 month (worked out that it was at Christmastime!), then 1 year, then another at Christmas with the family, then 2 year, then another at 2 1/2 at Christmas...but I skipped her 3 year because we were gone alot during that time, then as soon as things quieted down, she falls & busts open her forehead & got stitches...so we'll just do the family one at Christmas, & probably get some of her alone.

But I plan on doing them on her birthday each year...or "around" her birthday! lol

Lilly got her first pics done at two months and one week. She was just smiling really good...that's one of her pics in my avatar. I love the things they can do with infant pics these days...we got some coupons for sears and had them done there...they were awesome...I have one where she is actually asleep in my hand and hubby's hand..kind of like his hand over mine and then her on top...it's in black and white and she is sucking her fingers....loved it! They also did one of her on a pink furry looking blanket holding my finger and cooing with just her diaper on....pics today taken compared to when I was little are very different. I highly rec. sears...we got to mix match our poses and order by sheet...so we got to pick our different sizes. You can get different coupons online to for a set amount per sheet and no session fee...usually for babies six months and under.

We had a photographer come to our home and he took very nice pics. Our oldest was 6 weeks, the second was 2 months (I think. He was a sick little baby with breathing problems and we had to postpone alot of things with him.) And our youngest was 8 weeks. All the pics turned out quite nicely.

We had cute pictures taken at about 3 months.

But when I look back at the 'quality' of the pictures and the price we paid, I sorta regret it.

I think I'll just do them myself the next time around.

We get their pictures done at Christmas and birthdays. I think that we will have to get them done at Sears next time because Walmart had a hard time getting them all to sit on their table. It was too small. This was last Christmas- they are all bigger this year.

My SIL went to Sears and she said they didn't do a good job, then we went to Sears when David was 6 months and they did an excellent job, then we went back for 1 year and they didn't. So I think it depends on the day and the person you get more than the place....

By the way, I develop my digital pictures at Walmart and using their off-brand digital machine produces FAR BETTER quality pictures than the Kodak machine does. Better, thicker paper it is printed on, clearer images, stronger color. Just go print one picture off each machine and you'll see what I mean.... and the Kodak is more expensive too. Doh.

We got a family picture done is February this year from Walmart. For $8 USD, we got about 40 pictures, then we did some special shots , like Ron and I looking at eachother holding hands etc for $6 extra. Well worth it. I LOVE the pictures and have sent them to every family member I could think of to show us off.

We plan on doing them again when I'm noticably pregnant, I want the his hands on my tummy pics.

I got my daughters pics done at 9mo, and 1year. I wasnt sure when to get them done so i think i missed some. But she has to scrapbooks full of pics and she is only 20months now. So i think i made up for it...

Personally, I think I've grown tired of the conventional baby photos. They cost too much and they all look the same.

So... after realizing my disappointment with the mundane Sears photos, etc, I decided to try my hand on something different.

I hope to make more of these for future children.

I use photobucket.com as my photo/image repository.

Are you able to load http://www.photobucket.com on your computer? It may be that you have a filter that blocks it.
