I have several photos of nature I took while living in the mountains in our off grid cabin

If you wish, please post your photos and some verbiage (a text from The Bible is always nice)

I took this one during the first few weeks up there

I call it After The Storm
Because, well, it was after a storm
Up there, storms were rather severe
Gusts to 80 and 100 miles per hour
They'd rattle the walls of our tiny cabin
Rather unsettling
Horizontal snow
Quite the relief to see it pass
There's a peace after a storm
Makes one thankful

I've got several from living in the mountains

This baldy roosted about 100 feet from the cabin
Stayed in the treetop for three days

I really like that sunset. Reminds me of one we had just a few days ago, We had a nice one tonight but there weren't enough clouds to make it this beautiful.

In the heat of the summer, I like to gaze upon the winter days at the cabin

'though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow'

When living in the mountains, the mule deer would appear in spring
Checking on our garden
They were somewhat pests, but I missed them all winter
They'd migrate and winter at Christmas Valley
Then come back to the mountains come spring

'God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the deer's;
he makes me tread on my high places.'

That picture reminds me of growing up. For several years we would pull our trailer up into the mountains every summer and live up there all summer as the old man was a timber faller. We would feed the deer watermelon and cantaloupe rinds and by the end of the summer there would be 20-30 deer hanging around at supper time waiting for goodies. Those were good times. Some of those deer would get tame enough by the end of the summer they would take the rinds out of a person's hand.

I really like this umage. I wish I had grown up with this kind of love and affection. Bu tGod is so good he has still saved me from the self destructiveness the lack of it creates in we humans.

I really like your photography. I used to have a Sigma SD14 which had the Foveon sensor. It had battery life issues but was really good at capturing colors. I wish I still had some of the pictures I took with it but I had them stored on my server and when we moved it took much longer than we figured it would to get a place of our own again and I lost all the images as the drives were multiple hard drives set up in a software multi drive configuration to extend the drive capacity and make them faster. When we finally moved 5 years later the drives no longer started and I lost all my pictures.

Wish I still had some of my slides from back in the 70s from up in the Yaak River Valley in Montana. That was a beautiful place back then. It's really changed now though as tons of California people have moved in there since then. I had pictures on the walls of some of the local photography shops in the Walla Walla area.

Yeah, I've lost a few
Mostly the ones on film

The two cameras I have now are my Nikon D50 (DSLR)
and a Canon Rebel I bought from a guy in financial trouble.
