  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In fact the supercomputer failed to find the solution as it is estimated it would require 2.5 billion years of computer time.
By comparison the photon based quantum computer took 200 seconds.
Physicists in China challenge Google’s ‘quantum advantage’

......But the calculation in this case is a ‘#P-hard problem’, which is even harder than notoriously tricky NP-hard problems, for which the number of solutions increases exponentially with the number of variables......

To understand what a P and NP problem is this video will prove useful.

It's a step forward, but as I understand it, this quantum computer is configured to solve only one particular problem; it's not yet general-purpose even for quantum computing problems.
Progress occurs in small steps.
What was significant about this experiment it was run at room temperature.
Qubits based on electrons or atoms require temperatures barely above absolute zero to counter quantum decoherence.
