I used to go to a church where pastor kept bashing philosophy. I think he was confusing philosophy as a science with philosophy as a common term for world view. In my opinion, philosophy can strengthen theology so much - but most Christian ministers don't realize that. At the other hand, Philosophy researches issues and has knowledge that some theologians would probably consider heretic. In particular views about trinity concept, free will, etc.

I absolutely agree with you.
All people, including Christians, should be curious and should be learning not just from their Sunday school.
the problem is this; most christians find satisfaction in the way christianity answers "The Questions". without the questions to drive them, most christians aren't pressed to continue deeper into philosophy.

the only thing left to drive them/us deeper into learning is the yurning to learn more about Him and his creation; no longer is it surching for truth (we've found it) it's a jurney to know the Truth better. and to become more aquanted with the Person of the Truth.

the real problem is that most "christians" get their "get out of hell free pass" and think their done with christianity. (this is why 80% of americans claim to be christian. . . . ) this is mostly caused by our bad teaching and moral compramise.

REAL Christianity is a walk: a constant "pick up your cross and follow me" a continual trust ME beyond yourself. it's not only a religion (most would argue it's not a religioni) it's a surrender, and a change of lifestyle, no longer conforming to this world but to Him and all the triumphs and difficulties that follow as consequences.

if this isn't what u were talking about when u said '0', i have no idea what u were refering to.

this wasn't what i was previously, mainly trying to convey anyway...

I will just take this moment to ask God to bless the video game industry with prosperity and quality work, I'm sure he knows a lot of those poor bastards need it....

It's all in the good book, in all it's narrow-minded, static glory.

Christians need not learn to ask "Why?" and "What for?".
Faith is there to fill in the gap for rational thought.

It's all in his plan... just fall back in line...
stop being so rebellious.
as philosophers look for loop holes in faith, just in case there is a God ?

I wouldn't say philosophers necessarily do that unless they're in philosophy of religion studies, so a lot of them are actually christians.
