  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there

I was wondering if it would even be possible to take pets out of a users account. Pets are only kept in the ER until their owner has been gone for one month...is there a way that they can be removed from the owners account at that point and placed into CFPR/CFFA care?

Also, should PMs be sent to users whose pets are found/fed at, say, 70% hunger or over, just giving a reminder to care for their pet, and if they would like to give them up, instructions on how?

It's not possible to take a pet out of a user's account at present, but the suggestion has been made to Erwin.

I am a bit wary of sending PMs to owners of hungry pets. Sometimes the pet is not being cared for because the owner is having a rough time in real life. I have fed hungry pets, only to receive a thank yo PM saying that the owner was in hospital, had no computer, had been grounded, had been injured and couldn't climb stairs to get to their computer or had family emergencies. I never ask anyone to give up their pet for adoption because this has upset quie a few people in the past when it was done by pet rescuers. I just feed the pet as a kind deed to the owner.
