  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

 I hate that when they do that. Or when you call your friend and it seems like that is the only time that their husband wants to talk to them....and you can hear them in the background.
My daughter's BF does that while she's on the phone with me. She can't carry on two conversations at once, you bozo!

How about giving someone advice or just a statement and someone jumps on you like you said something that shouldn't be said or that you are just plain stupid for making such a comment!

People who take information that you shared with them, and turn it around and use it against you. I am an abuse survivor and have a depressive disorder, for example, and I once goofed up by telling a co-worker that I had it. I was never again taken seriously by that co-worker, who wrote me off as "crazy," treated me like an idiot, and my input didn't count. That'll teach me.

I have a friend who does that. I'm just saying something simple and she jumps all over me because she interprets what I'm saying and adds a spin to it -- instead of taking it at face value.

Yeah, I've sadly learned not to say things to some people. I used to be a very open, trusting person. But I got burned one too many times by gossips and people who are failing in the area of sensitivity.

Peeve: People who fail in the area of sensitivity.

Other peeve: People who are incredibly shallow and self-promoting, yet inexplicably popular. That REALLY annoys me.

I absolutely agree with you there, I am a survivor also.

I was a teacher so at one time had my own daughter in my class. So it was assumed by all the parents that I was giving my daughter special priveleges and favoritism in my class--when it was totally the opposite!! I'm harder on my own children then the others! Argh......

I get peeved when I speak out when someone is doing something unfair, and the person I'm talking to dismisses it. They refuse to acknowledge that what I am saying about the person is true. That really gets my goat. Always has.

Similar to One Day At a Time, it also peeves me when people react to my kindness like I'm weak. Then they treat me a certain way and it makes me mad. I don't feel I should have to threaten people in order for them to act properly. And yet, I end up being the one who suffers -- why?

So understand Jenster!

How about when you give good advice (I mean really helpful advice that that person needs to know) and they look at you with a totally blank face as if you never even said anything to them. Ugh...that is infuriating!

When I see others getting away with something I caught heck for doing--and if I point it out, shame on me, because that makes me a squealer.
