Ok...so this is driving me nuts so I just have to get it out. It is a bit of a story but a pp at the same time.
We have a Chinese college student living with us this summer. I thought I would kind of take her under my wing so to speak and help her out a bit especially with American culture. But honestly, everytime I try to tell her that the term she is using is really not want she really means--she tells me that it's not her problem if people can't understand. And if they can't understand then they need to just tell her and she will "explain" it to them. So honestly, at this given moment, I'm ready to ship her off!! Of course, I would never do that but it is definitely tempting. So I'm peeved at her stubbornness and willfulness---I mean I'm only 46 and have lived here all my life and she is 26 and has lived here for 1 1/2 yrs! :o

That is without a doubt something that could be done! But she would probably say "Well, the point is...." That is how she responds to things when she doesn't agree with you or thinks you don't understand her!

Indeed! that would really frustrate me, ODAAT! Seems there are some people who are too proud to be helped.

I'm peeved today by all the people who are oblivious to others. just now I was at the grocery store and the friend of a man who was at the checkout was standing reading a magazine and blocking the way. I was carrying a really heavy basket and wanted to get to the conveyor belt but she just stood there, nose stuck in the tabloid, with no mind to all of us standing behind her ready to unload our items. Jeez! I finally had to push my way past her, at which point she put the magazine back on the rack... oy...

My pet peeve is b/c when I go into some place that requires a lot of walking I have to go in a wheel chair.....people are rude!! They don't even see you and walk in front of you like they have to be first! I hate that!

Hi Everyone! I have never posting in this area before...in fact, I just found it today.

I have a pet peeve.....I hate it when people are so concerned with how they appear to others over how they actually relate to others and the actual condition of their relationships.

Let me see if I can explain what I mean without writing a book. Like when people have a habit of making excuses as to why they can't get together after accepting invitations (sometimes not even calling--just not showing up), deny anything is wrong, and then turn around and get upset-- making you out to be the one to blame when you stop planning get-togethers with them. That irks me.

when people are so arrogant as to insist on their own selfish will and try to put God's name on it. Like doing something obviously not right or immoral or deceptive, and trying to "Christianize" it, calling it a "ministry" or some stupid thing, and try to make YOU wrong for attempting to stop them, because then you're opposing God. Horse muffins.

Yes! That IS annoying.....how difficult is it to call? I try to give people the benefit of the doubt...maybe they forgot (although I usually try to confirm things the day before)...or hopefully not the case...but maybe they got into an accident. I will usually call the next day and say something like, "I thought I would check up on you and make sure you are okay since you didn't make it to our meeting. Is everything all right???"

I hate that too!! My cup warmer thing doesn't keep it hot enough!


We went out of the way to take our Chinese girl to the church to see this pastor that she has talked about forever. We get there--she gets to meet him and talk--etc. We are walking out to the car and I ask her how she liked church and she refused to answer me. I even asked twice (worded differently thinking maybe she didn't understand me). I got the stone face and then she said "I'm happy in Jesus". But to me she was completely rude! No thank you for taking me or anything! Could make one peeved !!!!!!!!!

My best friend calls me (keep in mind, she is not from this country) and asks me to go pick up her check, then wants me to sign it and then go deposit it for her. She would have to go out of her way to drive down here to pick it up, so I am the bad one here, because I told her no. Argh! that just urkes me. I told her that it was illegal for me to forge her name and then that it was also against my belief.
What would you have told her?

I would have done the same thing. It's better to go to bed with a clear conscience and an angry friend then feeling guilty for the sake of pleasing your friend.

Pet peeve: phone ringing after you fell asleep.

I also agree with the phone ringing!!

How about when your family knows you are going to lie down for a nap and then they leave and call you because they forgot to tell you something....and then say..."Oh yeah, I forgot you were taking a nap!"

Yeah,now she wants me to drive out to visit her after work,I forgave her,but I am bitter about it still. It takes me to get over something.

The phone ringing... been there done that,usually I nap on Fridays,my long shift doing private nursing tires me out.

Another Pet Peeve,when Christians in your church judge you.

Yep you have to be careful about complaining about things...and especially when you have a workable remedy. That will always get you a new project...
