• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Trying to help someone out (out of the goodness of your heart) and they will not listen to you b/c they are just tooooooooo stubborn and don't want to admit that you might be right!

Or when you're trying to ask a question, and they interrupt and answer a question you weren't even asking. They're reacting to what they think you're *going* to say, instead of what you are actually saying. Then when you try to clarify what you were really asking, they interrupt you again to say, "I already answered that," or "How long do we have to keep harping on it?"

People who lie to control you. Like my boss, who says that we will not be "directly" involved in a certain upcoming project -- but those of us who have been around the block know that we WILL end up doing it because there's no plan for anyone else to be involved.

Which is a veiled way of him saying, "I don't want you to be upset, so I am not telling you the truth. When the crisis hits, then I will find a way to get you to do the work."

Blech. I have such little respect for him sometimes.

man, while I scrolling down the screen to see what you guys wrote recently, your moving bug in your signature freaked me out, I thought it was on my screen.

Pet Peeve: constuction workers who close the road that you work on, I drive through anyways. :D

Ugh. My wife does that. I thought women were supposed to be such great communicators (communicatrixes?).

when your talking to someone and they never let you finish your thought and feel like what they have to say is more important than what you were going to say to them in the 1st place. And then when they are all done blabbing they say "sorry go ahead" and then you forget what you were going to tell them in the 1st place. that just burns me.

I don't like it when people use a person's mental illness as an excuse to blow off their genuine emotions over legitimate issues. People with a diagnosis should be permitted to get upset from time to time, as everyone does, without a condescending, "Did you take your medicine today?" Or, "Don't mind her. She's sick in the head." Just because there is a mental illness, doesn't mean any and all emotions are a symptom of it.

AND

I don't like it when people assume that an overweight person "doesn't need" what he or she is eating. Yesterday on my way home from the gym, I picked up some carry-out Asian food and ate it at the bus stop. Judging eyes passed by, giving off visible vibes of, "Why is she eating, when she needs to lose weight?" How did they know it wasn't all I'd had all day, besides a nutrition shake for lunch? How did they know I hadn't just been to the gym? How do they know I am not in fact losing weight already? In fact, it was my first actual meal of the day (7:00 PM), I had just been to the gym, and I've lost 8 pounds in the past 2 weeks, so I'm doing quite well, thank you. You know, obese people need to eat too.

when someone is talking to you in the room while your on the phone, and think what they to say is more important than what the person is saying to you on the phone. argh!

 I hate that when they do that. Or when you call your friend and it seems like that is the only time that their husband wants to talk to them....and you can hear them in the background.
