Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

When I have carefully done everything I need to do--but plans and schedules somehow get messed up because of *someone else's* incompetence. For example, showing up for a very important appointment, and then finding out that the person who should have notified me that it was moved to somewhere else, didn't. And then, of course, I end up missing it through no fault of my own. I sure hate that.

Oh gosh, I hate that too!

I hate it when someone habitually "forgets" to do things he promises people he'll do. Someone who does not live up to his word.

When a off-topic sideline argument breaks out in a CF thread, then you post something directly relating to the OP, and it's ignored because everyone's too caught up in the sideline argument.

I could point to a couple of places right now where this is happening.

My peeve is people who put on too much perfume. One of my friends (and I've brought it up with her politely but now I'll have to be brutally blunt) wears a suffocating amount of perfume. It is designed to attract, but instead the strong scent overpowers and REPELS.

I'm with you there! I have allergies and these people walk into the room and I can't even breathe!! :sigh::sigh:

I really hate it when people assume, before even letting me actually try something, that I'm going to mess it up. They don't let me try, and they just jump right in and do it for me, or they snatch it out of my hands at the first sign of struggle, instead of letting me learn. I hate that so much. Do I have "stupid" stamped on my forehead or something?

^ Aaargh!

My mom used to do that all the time. I just figure it means people can't control themselves and they actually want to do it. It's sad, but I try not to take it personally. They don't actually want to teach anyone else. A good teacher understands the learning process and focuses on the students' needs and development -- not their own needs for satisfaction. It's not you, LovebirdsFlying; it's them. And yeah, it sure is ANNOYING!

Ok, how about when you are talking to someone (say a doctor) and because you are a woman and a blonde--they think you are stupid and really don't know what you're talking about! Yeah, don't call me stupid!! I do have a brain!

Doctors are really bad about that. You don't even have to be blonde. I once went to ER with what turned out to be a blocked ureter, and the ER doctor told me, "It's called a ureter, but you just tell your doctor 'kidney tube,' and he'll understand." Even if I hadn't already known what a ureter was, am I so stupid I wouldn't have been able to remember the word after he told me? Another doctor ridiculed me for taking my oldest daughter in with an eye infection, and I told him, "I'm concerned she has pinkeye." The doctor scoffed and said, "No, she doesn't have pinkeye. She just has a little bit of conjunctivitis." Hello! It's the same thing. And I'm not too dumb to know that.

What's up with them?

I went to the dr. for strep or sinus infection--and b/c I was coming from work and dressed up--he was like "Well, you don't look sick!" And then when he looked in my throat he said "Oh yeah you have an infection--so what do you think I should prescribe for you?" But then he turned around and said "Well, just look that way and count the red cars going by."......I was like WHAT?!! He treated me like a child--so I reported him to the hospital board that he was on!
