I disagree. I don't think they are "incredibly linear" as you put it. My mother has a problem with histrionics. I fear she's getting Alzheimers, like her father, my grandfather did before her. May I suggest you either be more patient, or pray for temperance. Sometimes a person who you feel is an annoyance isn't aware that they've told you something before. And all they really need is for someone to listen and care.
