  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My pet peeve is people who just leave their shopping carts in the middle of the parking lot. They are just to lazy or don't care to put the shopping carts where they belong.

My pet peeve is when they "borrow them", take them home, empty them and leave them sitting at the end of the street or on sidewalk. Certain people near my neighborhood don't have cars (the women) and they walk about everywhere they go, with humpteen kids with them and just take the cart after checking out. Most can't speak english, so it is no use trying to say anything to them. To me it is stealing.......

Customer service with people who speak such poor english you cannot understand them and they cannot understand you. At fast food places I am never sure what I will get on my orders. Learn it or leave!!!!!

Also loud music in cars blasting down the road, especially filthy "gangsta" type garbage.:o

we have a place here that if someone tries to take one of the carts off the property the tires lock up and they can't move it! It cut down on the carts being carted off!

 I heard from someone that if you are on the phone with a customer service problem--ask to speak to someone that speaks English...and they have to get someone for you. (don't know personally....but it was said that a lot of those calls are actually being answered over in India--not sure of that)

Also the loud music.....we hear it a half a mile away!

People who try to take advantage of my helpful nature and ask me to do my co-workers' work because my co-workers aren't that helpful. It just irks me because I'm working at 110 percent already. Then I have to take time to say, "NO, you need to be asking So-and-so for that." It's making me be less helpful in general because I'm tired of being bothered!

Yeah, I don't like it when people always take advantage of someone with a helpful nature. "Oh go ask..........they never say no" I have heard that said more than once....(and about me too....b/c I hate to say no!)
Oh, and then aren't they more than happy to take credit for your work?!

Thanks for understanding, ODAAT. And yes, you're right about them taking credit later! Oh boy....

In France there is a box on each cart. You need to put some coins (like 4 quarters) in it in order to separate the cart from the others. If you want your coins back after shopping you need to push the cart in the back of the others. Then the cart locks with the cart in front and you get your coins back. It works pretty good. :)

That is such an excellent idea. That even cuts down on the carts being scattered all over the parking lot, and on windy days...bumping into the cars in the lot.

I don't know if you have an Aldi's by you but that is what they do....it only cost a quarter but it is so funny how you want that quarter back! LOL :ahah:
I know one time someone was coming out and was bringing the cart back...so we said "we will take your cart back and here is a quarter" and she told us no....she wanted her own quarter back! We laughed b/c there was no way she would get back "her" quarter!

No, we don't have Aldi's here...but, I am seriously going to tell someone in management at a local grocery about this. Funny how money motivates....even just a quarter some people get attached to...:)

I can't believe what a GREAT idea this is. I just went to the grocery last night, and there were carts scattered EVERYWHERE. It was difficult to even find a space to park.

when people don't let you be you. They want you to be happy so that they can be happy. They can't just ask you how you're doing and then listen. Instead it's "So you had a good time? So you enjoyed yourself? So it was good to see everyone? So the speaker was really good?"

So annoying.

I guess my reaction is: If you want me to be fake and give you fake answers, I can. But there doesn't really seem a point to that.

Thanks, rainy. I needed that.

My current peeve is that a friend gave my phone number and address to a Tupperware-type salesperson. I'm, like, "What the...?" The friend was the one who hosted the products party, and before the party even happened, the saleslady was calling me on my CELL PHONE! I don't want to create friction with my friend, but that is NOT okay with me.

Fortunately, if I don't know you or your phone number, I won't be answering the phone.
