CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I also don't appreciate it when people close the lid on the toilet....that is just as bad (maybe that is just me though)

I don't respect anyone who lies. It's amazing how many people accept lying as a necessary part of how the world works. Sometimes I don't think I can function in this world. But then I think, No, Don't let the devil win! God is more powerful than the devil, and Jesus has already won the victory. So I *can* live in this world and the lies don't have to get me down and they won't win.
But hearing people lie still feels like crap. That's my pet peeve.

Oh my gosh, people who overreact. You do one truly minor thing, innocently, and they jump all over you like its the worst thing that's ever happened on planet Earth. So unpleasant. Where is their perspective? Where is their self-control?
Another peeve: When people go on and on, talking without focus. Yes, what you're saying is interesting but it has NOTHING to do with the point of our discussion. Aaargh!
