LOL - no, I've talked with some friends in other churches and they seem to have the same issues.I hear ya! I'm a worship leader and it really is a pet peeve of mine when the instruments are too loud. What's the point? I too enjoy hearing the voices sing together in harmonies and as a body. It's music to my ears to hear the voices like that. These days the instruments (especially the drums! :o) seem to want to take over. I play piano too so it is nice when I can control the sound of at least THAT instrument.![]()
Funny...I thought it was just in MY church this was happening. Kinda good to know its not.![]()
My wife and I go to a chapel service at our church where we don't get the big auditorium performance each Sunday - but we have a piano there and in a room that won't hold more than perhaps 60, they put a microphone in the piano! Ha! I don't get it.
My best friend attends church in Nashville, where the musicians are tops in the country. It is his opinion that amplification makes up for poor performances in churches like ours - because they have all the instruments and amplifiers in his church - but the musicians there are "session level" players who he feels don't need the amplification to sound their best.
Oh well, we keep praying... LOL
