Now, If I'm understanding Purity Codes correctly, I understand this section to cover some purity codes. Not to say that we should disregard it, but that it is likely too great a burden to bear for most of us. I believe it still wise to study for understanding the nature of purity.

Of course I'm open to input on this also, but mostly wanted to give a comparasin.

Read Leviticus 18:18, and tell me if that is a purity code violation or a moral code violation.

Also, there is no verse that says "thou shall not lie with womankind as with mankind, it is abomination". (for lesbians). This chapter is very specific about what is wrong. If the standard was set for US, then it would've been written back then, too.

AS I SAID, the scholars seem to agree that this verse in Leviticus falls under the purity code violations that we do not follow anymore. The Mosaic law is the only thing to be concerned with.

Which "scholars?" You have NOT quoted any "scholars." You have only quoted one guy, Tony Campolo, and he is NOT a Bible or Greek scholar. He is a retired sociology professor and no more qualified as an authority on Greek scholarship than you are to perform open heart surgery.

And the Jews do NOT now and have never dismissed the condemnation of sodomy/homosexuality as part of a purity code and not binding. That is a false concoction by people who know nothing about Hebrew or the Jewish faith.

You aren't reading the chapter properly. Chapter 18 verse 22 says "thou shall not lie with mankind as with womankind, it is abomination". Abomination means ritual impurity. None of the other verses say it is "ritual impurity".

This is insane. I honestly think you are either too close to this debate, or it honestly doesnt matter what gets posted- I suspect it is possible you are not open to any input that does not agree with your position.
