A Phobia is a fear, plain and simple! Your definition doesn't encompass the whole thing, but nonetheless it is of no consequence.

You were telling me about getting straight As in English? Please read my post again I did NOT say "phobia" a different but related word. I said "sinophobe." The suffix "phobe" also means "antipathy." I knew that when I posted and I used the word advisedly.

unfortunately... we don't have access to any form of understanding that isn't human, so your argument fails

I won't rebuke you if you are not a Christian.

Yet you should understand that God's word, God's understanding etc etc etc is the basis of the Faith.

If there is nothing but human understanding then the scriptures speak falsely for commanding us to 'lean not on our own understanding'. For if there is nothing else available for us to lean on, then we merely fall and have nothing but darkness.

But I will only testify to you that there is a God and Lord Jesus Christ who is the true light of understanding. I say this not as a proof, but as a witness.

I used to debate against homosexuality in this very forum, till I was convicted of it. Yes, I was mad that I was convicted, remember that pride is stronger even my own identity of who I am!

Oooooh, how many times have I heard that from LDS, JW, UPC, UU, etc.

religioustolerance.org is a very credible reference and usage for anything. Do you have any dirt on them too, I would love it...they are very credible.

Are they now? I'm glad you asked that question.
Almost all of the over 3,284 essays and menus on this web site were written by our main author, Bruce A. Robinson. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto, class of 1959, with a BaSc (Bachelor of Applied Science) degree in Engineering Physics. He worked for a large multi-national chemical company for 38 years before taking a "golden handshake" and early retirement during a company downsizing. During his employment, he functioned as a specialist in the development of electronic instrumentation, as a computer programmer working in process computing, and as a group leader. Technical writing formed a major part of his work assignment.

The science/engineering degree and industrial experience of our main author has equipped him with the skills that he needs to report the religious scene: logical, analytical thinking, and the ability to express thoughts clearly.

He is an Agnostic -- a person who has concluded that the existence or nonexistence of God cannot be proven at this time.
Many visitors to our web site question our authors' theological credentials. We explain that none of our staff have theological degrees.

I said that I am 100% sure in my assessments of what the Bible actually means.

Contradicted by ALL credible ancient Jewish and early church sources.

You mean the same sources that condone all types of human slavery and mistreatment of women? The same sources that had no knowledge of a natural, innate, inborn orientation unknown in all documents of Scripture and your documents? The same sources??? can it be? the ones that put themselves under the dietary and purity code laws that are no longer valid in the NT?

Ancient Jewish sources? you mean the ones that don't believe Jesus is God? and I'm not talking about the Messianic Jews now, either.

You don't have to have credentials to cite sources, I thought you understood that.

Btw, agnostic doesn't mean anything at all...they give all sides of every story from every religion...it's a very unbiased website from what I've seen.

Totally irrelevant to the discussion. This is a logical fallacy, "The Jews could not have been right about anything, because they condoned slavery, etc., yada, yada, yada.

And OBTW I'm talking about how the ancient Jews BEFORE the birth of Christ interpreted their Hebrew scriptures as recorded in their ancient writing Mishna, talmud, etc.

Your incessant litany about dietary and purity code laws is more dissembling. The Jews have never made that distinction. If that was a valid point they would have recognized it. And did that Jewish rabbi, speaking lies about the talmud, who you quoted, believe in Jesus? It was not an issue for you as long as you thought he was supporting homosexuality.

Hey Dave, my other chatty buddies.

I'm going to be mostly off of the forum for the next few days. Two midterms tommorow, major term assignment friday, another tuesday, another test thursday and so on so forth.

Just wanted to let you know I won't be forgetting about you.
