  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A score of "X" means that you are borderline between the two traits. I sometimes mark myself as INTX rather than INTJ because I want to show that I have many traits of INTP as well as INTJ. This is a convention that David Keirsey uses in his personality sorters. The online test does not have it because of the difference in the way it is scored.

It's weird, in the past I have always come out as a counselor/healer. Now I have come out as a protector.

I just learned something about how my personality tends to approach tend to approach spiritual and moral decisions for myself and others.
If someone comes to me for advice about something that may involve wrongdoing, my automatic response is something along the lines of "Because God loves you, you need to consider a more productive way of approaching this situation." Another alternative, one that I don't naturally use is "God's judgment rains down on those who sin, so stop or reap God's wrath!" One emphasizes God love as motivation for change and the other God's judgment. I'm NOT says that one excludes the other. My emphasis probably comes from personal experience: because I feel God loves me, I am motivated to do the right thing.

Another thought: I PMed Rising tree with some thoughts on personality and theological choice. Consider that two people come to the Bible to learn about God. The first comes to the conclusion that the Bible emphasizes that God is the sovereign king who values justice above all. The second is overwhelmed by the love and compassion the God shows to humanity. Both are inspired by a theological system that affirms their findings and spend the rest of their lives arguing with each other over the meaning of verses like John 3:16. :D This is just a thought, I may be pretty off base here so I'm not looking for a debate.

I would agree with the importance of this analysis. Understanding the distinct differences in our individual psychology allows us to be aware of our inherent bias. Bias is inevitable. Everyone has an inherent natural bias in one way or another. The trick is then to realize that the Truth is irrespective of this bias.

If your type indicates that you have a bias to believe in a Just God or a Merciful God, then be wary of the other side. Understand the God is both.

Also be respectful of others who think and feel differently. They may often be just as correct. God has many faces without changing who He is.

Discovering the MBTI and then the KTS was a revelation. It has improved my life in so many aspects and given my people skills a much-needed shot in the arm.

I'm thinking about writing a book relating the KTS to Christianity. :)

if it wouldn't be too much trouble, i'd love to.. cuz ya know.. there is lil i do understand about me..heh

its weird, cuz that test thingy said i'd be a nurse or something, which is funny, cuz thats what i'm going to school to be. but at the same time, i wish i was somehing different, like i have dreams to be something totally different (actng, dancing.. i wanna be in the spotlight..). but i dunno, after taking the test an it telling me the career choice was right for me, maybe dreams will always be just that...dreams. maybe nursng is right up my ally, i was having some doubt, id ever make it..

This assumes that you are indeed an ISFJ and thus an SJ. If so, this should ring loud and clear to you; if not, it will strike a chord.

"More than other types, Guardians [SJs] feel appreciated in the degree that others are grateful for what they, the Guardians, have doen for them. It is galling to them when others take their services for granted and express no gratitude, but they can never say that they're galled. In truth, no one deserves gratitude as much as the Guardians. Their guardianship is conscientious and unstinting, their attention to duty unflagging. Yet of all the types the Guardians are least able to ask others to express gratitude. Perhaps this is because they shift from the position of the child to the position of the parent far sooner than the other types do, and imagine that parental responsibility far outweighs parental entitlement to gratitude.

"Their attention to duty has a natural consequence: they help others, often doing the many thankless jobs, cleaning up, washing, record-keeping, and all the other routine and burdensome--but usually critical--tasks associated with meeting logistical necessity. Imagine what happens to the glorious two-week family vacation if nobody remembers to check the car's gas and oil. These are important tasks, but by their very nature they are almost invisible to others. The result is that Guardians may not be (are almost certain not to be) thanked for what they have done. In fact, these jobs may be noticed only when they are not done. Finally the Guardian is likely to protest resentfully that he or she has worked long and hard, and his or her efforts have not even been noticed--'After all I've done, this is the thanks I get.' And well might they protest, for those they help do owe thanks that is all too seldom given."

...their shyness with strangers is often misjudged as stiffness, even coldness, when in truth these Protectors are warm-hearted and sympathetic, giving happily of themselves to those in need.
