  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Anyone seen these prayers?

ISTJ: Lord help me to relax about insignificant details beginning tomorrow at 11:41.23 am e.s.t.

ISTP: God help me to consider people's feelings, even if most of them ARE hypersensitive.

ESTP: God help me to take responsibility for my own actions, even though they're usually NOT my fault.

ESTJ: God, help me to not try to RUN everything. But, if You need some help, just ask

ISFJ: Lord, help me to be more laid back and help me to do it EXACTLY right.

ISFP: Lord, help me to stand up for my rights (if you don't mind my asking).

ESFP: God help me to take things more seriously, especially parties and dancing.

ESFJ: God give me patience, and I mean right NOW

INFJ: Lord help me not be a perfectionist. (did I spell that correctly?)

INFP: God, help me to finish everything I sta

ENFP: God,help me to keep my mind on one th-Look a bird-ing at a time.

ENFJ: God help me to do only what I can and trust you for the rest. Do you mind putting that in writing?

INTJ: Lord keep me open to others' ideas, WRONG though they may be

INTP: Lord help me be less independent, but let me do it my way.

ENTP: Lord help me follow established procedures today. On second thought, I'll settle for a few minutes

ENTJ: Lord, help me slow downandnotrushthroughwatIdo

I think the types can help us find our weak points, which we do need to pray about...

While I agree that others may be more patient than NTs with such relationships, I do not think that NTs are completely intolerant of such relationships. NTs may have reasons for staying in such a relationship. Those reasons may indeed include loyalty.
True.

Maybe the following is the root problem with this (or any) personality classification scheme: Trying to classify all of humanity into so few types is too general. It looks good on paper, but in the real world it must be taken with a grain of salt. People are unique. 4 or even 16 types are not going to adequately describe everyone. Any given individual will be a mixture of the types. I suspect that it would be rare to find anyone who is the extreme example of any one type.
It violates some people's beliefs that we are unclassifiable, but the truth remains that connections resound between our temperaments and our behaviors. Read Dr. Keirsey's Please Understand Me II if you haven't already done so and judge for yourself the model's accuracy.

Furthermore, people's personalities can develop with time and life experiences. And people who are on the border between types or who go through something which has an extreme effect on them may indeed change from one type to a different type. I don't buy the whole "your personality is one and only one of these types and is set in stone for life" bit.
Yes and no. Isabel Myers illustrated how different aspects of our personality mature at different stages in our life. However, your actual type is fixed for life. I will forever be an INFJ. You will forever be an NT. etc.

Because, like I said, even NTs need friends and get lonely. We can't be expected to spend all of our time with only computers/machines. Thus, we need social skills in order to make and keep friends.

It helps if the emphasis is on the word excessive rather than the word time. Anything excessive isn't good.

As an NT, I think that fact is incorrect or too general/extreme. NTs may be more logical than most, but we are not robots or vulcans. Like I said before, it seems that in analyzing the personality, the person has been forgotten. We don't do whatever is necessary to avoid clingy/submissive relationships, as sometimes there are other factors to consider such as how much we care about the person we have such a relationship with.

After all, a logical person can't leave out key data in making a decision ;)
I just wanted to say...If your read more of what Keirsey says, you will read about NTs also being very sensitive and generous people. He does not portray NTs as vulcans! NTs simply do not value the general social dating/mating and relationship customs that other types do. They also do not see relationships as arbitrary so if they get into one it's going to more often than not be based on a careful thought process, evaluation, etc. It's a tedious and difficult process for them! Not because they want it to be difficult, but they just simply won't base a decision on feelings alone. I hope that makes sense! :) My boyfriend is an NT and he's not a vulcan at all ;)

You do know that Keirsey says that NTs and NFs make ideal partners, right? :)

Yes :) As crazy as our relationship is at times! hehe. It's not crazy, just that although we are good together, we really do think differently in some major ways that sometimes make us frustrated with each other. However, it works out well somehow and we really enjoy one anothe'rs company :)

As Keirsey says, you share abstract word use (SJs and SPs have concrete word use), but you have different tool use: NFs (as are SJs) are cooperative; NTs (as are SPs) are utilitarian. In other words, you speak the same language but do different things with it. This gives you the common ground on communication without making you too much alike.

I like these quizzes/tests. They are great fun!
I have ran across this test several times randomly over the past few years, and take it each time I find it to see if the results are consistent. I forget which answers I previously chose, and I always try to think of the answers to my present situations and mentality.
Without fail, the results indicated that I am an ENTJ – Fieldmarshal.

Dude, this is weird. I changed quite a bit over winter break. Before, I was an ISFJ, and now I'm an ENFJ. However, I have quite a few things in common with other combinations, too (including whole other categories). Whatever's going on, God is definitely awesome. (It seems it's getting harder to characterize my "personality"...LOL).

That just means you were in a different mood each time. Your type is fixed for life. Now, it is possible that in real life, you're a hybrid on the I/E and S/N trait.
