It has come to my attention that upon election Mods will will be able to have access to "Sensitive Personal Information." SPI could be very damaging to people. What policy is in place to protect people from Mods leaking SPI to other people in the forum and then those people acting on it?

Right now there is at least 2 people who have expressed the desire to fire people for disagree with them. What is going to be done to make sure that peoples, pastors, employers, conference officals will not be contacted. what will be done to ensure that e-mail addresses wil not be given out or that mods will not contact conference leaders to "out" people?

The only 'personal' information any CF staff should have, is your IP address and whatever you have shared in your profile. If you have shared your e-mail address with them, they will know that as well. I simply put noway@hotmail.com on my registration form, because there is no way I was giving out my real e-mail address.

Unless you have provided it, your real name, e-mail, specific location, address, phone number, etc. is unknown to them. Or at least it should be!

I agree Mjona.

However, when I signed up for CF I don't remember having to give my entire real name? I could be wrong about that, but I don't think I had to.

Also, some people list what town they live in (I don't), and they even go so far as to list the name of their church.

I don't do that.

Occasionally someone posts their MySpace page or a link to their blog that contains personal information....so if they do that, they shouldn't assume it was a mod that leaked their information.

Give as little info as you can. The internet is dangerous anyway, why make it easy on people?

Somebody who is in a position to confirm or deny these things had better get here and quick, because if what Ice says is true, I will not be posting here anymore, period. I have said nothing here I would not want anyone else to know was from me, but the principal of the matter still stands. It is a violation of personal privacy and totally illegal!

I highly doubt Tall would be posting here if it was the way Ice says. He has a lot more to lose than anyone else here.

You're right Trust. The less information the better in the online world.

IP addresses aren't like a fingerprint.

One surefire way of making sure you don't get in trouble with your church is to be honest with your pastor and don't say anything on here you wouldn't say to your pastor. No?
some people give too much power to the church.... get in trouble with the church? LOL.... I want the pastor to call.... would be an interesting conversation....

The fact is that most Protestants still hold to the Catholic position that salvation comes through the church and to "make it in" one has to be in communion with the church.

I saw a website once that said they could track down ANY person from a photo. Even if you didn't know their name (can you say STALKER?)

For the small fee of like $2,000.
And in certain bars in virtually any town you take the pic with the address on the back write a phone number on a couple of c-notes and you can be sure they won't make it to sunrise.

No fair asking how I know that.

Honest, It's just something I heard about.

Although, there are certain places around here, like on Rice Street where you don't go with anything less than a gun ....

As for tracking by pictures, sometimes I look like this:

Well--I just think this is toooo hilarious.

How funny that someone would worry about the GC coming in here and seeing what "Adventists" are saying.

This just shows me that deep down, those who ARE bashing the SDA doctrines feel guilty about it at some level.

Honesty IS the best policy!
