Persecution at School...

I thought I would bring this up for teens, but what does everyone here do to battle persecution at school?

I help enlarge a prayer group EVERY morning, we hold hands and we pray out loud in the middle of the hall, in a part of the school where almost everyone hangs out.

Let me know what everyone else does, let's give this new forum some heart God bless!

Whoa, I forgot about this thread, it almost died! That's a good idea! Here are some other things I do:

- Read my bible in class.
- Ignore rude comments.
- Pray at lunch.
- Recommend Jesus to fellow friends and non-believers (without forcing my beliefs of course)

Those are just some of the things, there are obvious things I do, like quote scripture, sometimes I even reference bible scripture in school assignments if it pertains to the situation.

Where I went to High School you couldn't pray on campus without getting a detention.

So that meant we prayed all the time.

Everywhere.

They can't send us all to detention! That's what you gotta remember.

That's what I argued, but they started that bullplop about

"We teach children to think in a rational, and logical manner. How can we expec tthem to understand something as irrational as God?"

My arguements:

1) If they can't understand the idea of anything irrational, such as God, then why teach them imaginary numbers, and fractions? Those things are not logical.

2) You never deny God. You simply say that you can't teach them about God because you cannot expect them to understand Him.

Number two makes two more points:

1) You either believe in God, or you chose a poor choice of words.

2) It is illogical that you would hold the truth because you think they cannot grasp an illogical idea such as God.

Anyway they choose to move from there pretty much makes their arguement invaild. I like working people into a corner.

im head of prayer in my C.U and i encourage prayer as much as i can, i ignore any rude comments and when im called a member of a "God squad" i feel proud to be aknowledged as a member of Gods army. I try to be as big a witness as i can and try to reach out to others, and frequently invite people to my youth group and to different events that my Church puts on. Fortunately for me there isn't much persecution in my school. So i pray fpr tyhose that do go thrpugh persecution - something that i have a big burden for doing.

I don't do much of anything as far as prayer and stuff. I prefer private devotionals instead of fellowship. It just feels awkward. I am not embarrassed (much) to pray in class and people around me know I am a strong Christian. Whenever I do essays I include God in it, like debating issues that relate to strong moral reasoning. I try not to use them in stories because my stories are fiction and if I include Him it will make it historical fiction (where God exists in reality and the other stuff is fake).

I'm active in the christian club at my school, get with other christians from other schools and plan activities and pray. Also, i bring my bible to school with me, and when i have free time I read it.

I grew up in a school of .5% Christians... give or take. I kneeled before the flag pole as often as I could, though there were times I didn't cause I felt stupid... something I feel stupid about now. God is worth way more then my ego.

Had a Bible study of two people then the other moved away so it ended. Now I'm out of Highschool, but I want you all to know that teens have the greatest impact in the world today. Who has ever heard of a VIRGIN teen!? Or one that has NEVER KISSED!!? Its like swearing to the world. I know you all like to 'swear'

I am very active in the Christian Prayer Group at my school to and I've become a good friends with our school chaplain. If I need to chat and we are both free, I'll come into her office and we'll sit on the bean bags and do exactly that - chat. Oh, and we'll eat chocolate Freddo's too.

I have a small bible in my pencil case so it's there if I need or would like to read it. It only has the NT though so if I need the OT, I have it in my school bag. Even if I won't read it at school at all one week, I just like knowing that it's there if I need or want to go to it. You know the feeling of when you wear a watch on your wrist all the time, or have your cell/mobile phone on you all the time and then one day you forget to bring it? It feels really odd... it's like that almost.

Other than that, I pray or will talk to someone else from prayer group. I have the most wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ at my school! (I go to an International school by the way.)

i commend all of you for taking responsibility for your own evangelism and not to be expecting the schools to do it for you in the form of leading prayer. God is proud of all of you!!! if anyone is ever forbidden from these expressions as have been described on this thread, the school is in violation and there are folks that will represent you. keep up the witness to the Lord, and may God bless every one of you.

This is so awesome and I have a pretty cool tesimony about being presecuted at school one day we got an assignment in oral communications and it was a persuasive presentaion to persuade people to believe the way we do well i wanted to do creationism but the teacher wouldn't let me because this guy through a fit that it offened his religion he did his on anarchism so he can go against our goverment in a goverment funded school but I can't do the theaory of creatioism so i told the teacher i would dot he seperation of church and state and I dis the myth of it instead and how peoplple twist it to take god out of eveything anyone intrested I'll email you a copy just message me and say you want and leave your email so I can send as an attachment any way I got on how our four fathers founded this country on god and the would be appailed to see it today and the pledge and did oyu know that the statement SERARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE is NOT in amendment 1 neither is it anywhere in the constituion but rather in a letter written by thomas jefferson and he was against it well if youwant to know more message me or email me my address s above this was truely awesoem and I love keeping in contact with other christians all ver he country oh did i mention a guy got saved after in the hallway at school it was sooooooo AWESOME GOD RULES because that speech and courage didn't come from me but him thank you god for that

First of all: Our forefathers didn't write the pledge.
Secondly: When the pledge was written, UNDER GOD was not included. That was added during the Cold War to discourage Atheism (a major part of Communism).

I'm not trying to be rude (but I'm probably coming across that way huh?), but check your sources next time.
