Atlantians,
Unclean spirits are the demons I am referring to and they are the souls of the unsaved set out to live their 120 year (Gen 6:3) as promised by God. I see their faces on people's faces when I do exorcisms. They are unclean, because they haven't been cleansed by God.
No, they are not. Those who died after those 120 years of the flood, they were, after their death, in prison:
1Peter 3:12-20
19 by whom also He went and
preached to the spirits in prison, 20
formerly were disobedient, when whoonce the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while
the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
Genesis 6:3;5-9;
3Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."
5Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
7The LORD said, "I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them."
8But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.
9These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God.
The divine longsuffering is the 120 years.
Those spirits were those who died after that punishment of the Flood.
Those spirits in prison are the spirits you say are Demons.
Genesis Chapter 6:3 is talking about these same people.
So no. They are not those people who are in prison.
It was in the original bible as well, the ones the disciples had in 2 Esdras....
Jesus, the disciples, and the majority of the first century Jews never quoted or referred to any of the Apocrypha as scripture.
also Judas was called a devil. Not having a devil.....but a devil.
Obvious figure of speech.
There are many scriptures that only make sense in this light.....take for instance the conversation between the disciples and Jesus as they were overjoyed that the demons were subject to them....and what did Jesus say?
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Luke 10:20
Was Jesus changing the subject? Hardly....the demons who they were casting out, their names were not written in heaven were they?
This makes perfect sense regardless of whether I accept your ideas or not.
That verse is simply praising Jesus because He has all authority including authority over whatever these spirits are... but they shouldn't celebrate because of that... they should celebrate because they are saved.
He is exhorting them to hold things in perspective.
