People Being Too Serious

When do you think is the point when someone can be called too serious?
There is a time and a place for everything and being serious can be a good thing but there's a point when you think the person should just laugh and be done with it.
What are your thoughts?

i agree.Sometimes we can get bogged down into being tooooo serious and thus not realize just how brittle and miserable we become as our little world narrows more and more....

symptoms of being toooo serious is the absence of a sense of humor and ironically, taking oneself too seriously.

I don't know, considering the options she turned down, which she is now accepting, she seriously seemed to want to go to jail.

Humor is a good thing and I believe it is beneficial to find a place for it, even in serious matters.

Serious people address problems. Frivolous people let problems get worse.

It's hard to argue that there's too much seriousness in the world.

As for humor... there are many kinds of humor. It all depends on what you're laughing at, and why. Intelligent humor can be very serious indeed. Intelligent humor offends the frivolous. Intelligent anything offends the frivolous, but intelligent humor actually insults them.

And word plays can be painful to those who "have a sensk of lack of humor..."
Some even consider it punishment.

Actually that would be an existentialist like Jean Paul Sartre. Who was also an atheist.
It seems humorous to me to be an existentialist; and yet set your life's belief on what does not exist.

Looking at the serious or darker side , for some of us is easier. But I have found making an effort to see the lighter side and laugh does help me feel just ..better , about everything
