Hi All!

I love this topic, as there is so much scriptural knowledge lacking, even amongst pastors.

I am going to look deeper into the "storehouse" tithe from Malachi 3:8- We shall do this by looking at the teachings regarding this storehouse tithe from the Law of Moses.

Deuteronomy 26:12 "When you have finished setting aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the levite...etc..."

then...

Deuteronomy 14:27-29 "And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own. At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that years produce and store it in your towns, so that the Levites(who have no allotment or inheritance of their own), and the aliens, fatherless, widows who live in your town may come and eat and be satisfied.......

Facts Established:

- The tithe was taken every three years, out of that years produce.

- Therefore, this totals to 3.33% of a persons increase NOT 10%.

Given this why do we teach people that God wants them to give 10% of their increase????

There was one other tithe in the Law of Moses (see Deuteronomy 14:22-26). This was taken every year and the tithers themselves ATE this tithe.
