PC game suggestions??

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a new game for PC. I have UT2004 (which, by the way, is probably the best game ever) but I'm thinking about getting a new game. Is BF Vietnam good? Any suggestions? Or should I just wait until Half/Life 2 and Halo 2 comes out, their predecessors of which I remember fondly.

Knights of the Old Republic is supposed to be great, if you're into RPGs. I've heard good reviews of Far Cry too.

Personally I'm saving my $$ for HL2, OFP2 and a ton of other great stuff coming out this fall.

BF Vietnam isn't as good as 1942 in my opinion. Try BF 1942 if you want a great game with tons of replayability

~ Well, if you like Real-Time-Strategy(RTS) games like Warcracft, Civilization III or Rise Of Nations is my recommendation! plus it has multiplayer support...

~but beware, these are super-addicting strategy games...

Far Cry. FAR CRY! GET IT NOW, I COMMAND YOU!
It IS an excellent game, very fun.

Also, you might get UT2k4. Awesome game..and Red Orchestra, THE most realistic WWII FPS, is coming out with the 2.0 version this week, it's a UT2k4 mod, so you'll need to get that first. www.redorchestramod.com

I did say in my first post that I had ut2k4, and the red orchestra mod looks pretty sweet. There's too few good mods out now for ut2k4. Modders better start modding!

If you got a powerful enuff system and like a game with a good story, I can't recomend Mafia higher.

Ghost Recon is a classic game and sequel is out soon!!!

Morrowind and its xp packs are great fun

If you got a net connection and like RPGs Guild Wars is gonna rock, I was in the'e3 for everyone' event and it was awesome.

If not... WHY. Its a must have, go get it now.

I am impatiently awaiting Farcry Insticts (the console release). But I am a huge sucker for games with lush and beutifull enviroments.

All are good suggestions, But I'd have to say pick yourself up a copy of Battlefeild 1942 it has everything, tanks, jeeps, armoured trucks, subs, battle cruisers, carriers, planes, bombers, artilery, and it can support upto 64 players online and it doesn't lag that bad if your on a modem. So many 3 am bf1942 sessions...

I'd say Tribes and Tribes 2 since they both just became free. I've been playing the Tribes series for a while and I must say they're my favorite FPSs ever. Also, America's Army is free too at americasarmy dotcom - Like counterstrike except it doesn't suck. And then I've also been playing Need for Speed Underground which is one of the best racing games I've ever played.

Regular BF is garbage, in my opinion. Get the Forgotten Hope mod...it's BF1942 on steroids.
