CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think it was only the playbook of the fringe, not the center as represented by Pelosi and most others.
Its like the crazy fringe Obama-isnt-a-real-American bs playbook....... Oh wait, the de facto dead center leader of the R's actually promoted that at every opportunity.

All I did is post an article that was published before Trump was even inaugurated and pointed out how the things suggested in the article ended up being the democrat strategy ever since.

Oh brother.Threatened? Giving them a way of defending themselves against possible Russian aggression (something strange for an accused Russian agent to do) is threatening?
Even a lot of solid center Repubs think Trumps actions in this matter were flat out wrong.
No need to re litigate this here for the umpteenth time.

The challenge for the center and the left is agreeing for a graceful way for Republicans to do the right thing and castrate Trump's abuse of power.
But there's no question that people like Murkowski or Collins know that what Trump did was abusive and wrong.

Because Trump finally did something reprehensible and abusive that demanded action. To not do so would mean the Democratic leadership would be untrustworthy by its supporters.

I don't expect Zelensky to be objective on this point, after all he and his nation are victims of the abuser in the Whitehouse, yet still dependent on their aid.

Poor Ukraine! Victim of Russia who wants to attack them, and victim of Trump who gives them 400 million dollars to defend themselves. Too bad they just don't realize how big of victims they are!
Exposing the character of a party isn't an attack. It's an unveiling. The conversation can start when the party can slide out from under its denial.

No, they realize it. They are just unable to do anything about it, realisitcally.
You expect me to believe this is what this is about? People like me will never be persuaded that Republicans are white knights. No, this is about spinning a narrative to appeal to ones own base, however faulty and unreasonable it is.
