  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi I am feeling really guilty. I hear everyone (even non-christians) saying that while The Passion is a good film it is not entertaining. I love my Lord dearly so why did I enjoy this movie? I found it very compelling and would really like to see it again. Is this sinful?

I think when a lot of people say that the movie was not entertaining, they mean it in a much more specific sense than you are. They mostly mean it wasn't action-packed, funny, or something like that.

I think it's perfectly OK that you enjoyed it, if by "enjoying" it you mean that it emotionally moved you and was meaningful--or if it was "compelling," as you said. If that's the case, I enjoyed it.

I see no reason that you should be guilty about this reaction.

Hey dude... don't feel like you're the only one... I mean I would definitely go see it again. I laughed at the idiot part, I cried at other parts so if you feel like that then that ain't bad. I mean because we know that it really happened we don't know how to feel, but in real life now we laugh even though people all around us are in pain. So don't feel bad about it... hope that helps...

I think as Christians we should not make this movie into an idol
That is a very wise statement. It is after all, just a movie. People should stop thinking it is God's word because it isn't :) I am sure however God will get from the movie exactly what he wants to.
