I live in the area where this took place and used to teach in that district. I can pretty much guarantee you this attack was racially motivated. You will never see white kids attacking black kids in the schools in Louisville- it's always the other way around. Always. That is not an exaggeration on my part. It is a fact. It's a fact that is glossed over, but the information is there. I've seen it.
That video is horrendous. JCPS no longer allows for students to be disciplined properly and control has been taken away from teachers to do anything. Things were bad back in 2012 when I left. Things are worse now.
Crosby used to be a fantastic school. However, they are constantly doing what is called redistricting and the student population is ever changing. How good or bad a school is perceived to be is always down to how the particular students in a school are being parented (or not parented).
My three big questions here are the following: Where was the adult supervision in the bathroom? In the last school where I taught, the bathrooms stayed locked and we escorted our students to supervised bathroom breaks. If what the parents are alleging is true, why did it take ten days to notify them? Why did this girl not tell her parents that she was beat up and in obvious pain that needed serious medical attention?
