Of course everyone's going to get Covid. After over a year and a half, you can be sure it's already saturated the US and probably the world.
And it's simply not been the doomsday killing machine we were sold on it being.
I remember when NYC was getting prepared for it. Field hospitals were set up, a couple of military hospital ships were sent to the city, and people were wondering if all that would be enough.
Then people started getting sick, but not near as much as was anticipated. Field hospitals and the medical ships were little used. Then we started getting videos of hospital workers doing silly dance routines. Then hospitals started releasing people because they weren't making money.
A few places refused to lock down and make people wear masks, and after a while a few other places followed them.
Then came the riots, and while we normal people were threatened if we didn't mask up and all that, rioters and looters didn't have worry about that.
And other hypocrisies were done. People in power who constantly went on about how important it was that we little people follow all the protocols all the time didn't follow those protocols themselves.
Covid 19 has been the Y2K of plagues.
What we've learned is this: the virus can be bad for older people as well as people with other health issues. But for normal people, it may make them feel bad for a few days if they catch it, but it's not a serious danger. And it's almost a complete non-issue for young children.
And when it comes right to it, I'd much rather deal with Covid and anything it might do to me, than I would a government that thinks it has to play parent and doctor to a nation full of people.
