  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is 1:45 in the morning and I can't sleep and am REALLY wanting pancakes! Do cravings and other symptoms start sooner with each pregnancy? I'm on pregnancy #5, baby #3 - I don't have a due date yet, but I am SO wanting pancakes right now!

Yes they do, your body is ready and knows what to expect because it has done it twice before... it's telling you what you need.

By the way congrats... Hmmmm... I'm surprised more people didn't respond to atleast give you a congrats!!

Having a baby is a beautiful thing, you should be proud.:)

Hehe, I've always had cravings (probably part of my genetic makeup) and it was getting really annoying these last four months when my mom was going 'uh huh, you're Pregnant!' LOL. I haven't been but 7 weeks, and that is definitely not three months. LOL

I got to craving waffles last night and DH was going to make them, then his mom offered french fries instead and we had those. I think today, I will be making waffles... loads of butter and maple syrupy heaven here I come!

why didnt they give you a due date when yo uhad an ultrasound? I don't have one yet either but its so cliche..... i want pickles all day every day

the first ultrasound i had was at the ER when i went to make sure it wasn't an ectopic pregnancy. i'd been having insane pains, and my dr was worried. this was before i even had my first dr's appt to get a duedate. the ultrasound department at my hospital isn't allowed to talk to the patient about anything. you have to follow up with the dr to get any information. the only thing they will be allowed to tell me is the gender of the baby if we want to know. so, 2 days after the ultrasound at the ER, I went to the dr's office for a follow-up and she gave me a duedate. i'm 12 weeks now and have had my duedate for awhile.

i just bought a gallon jar of pickles yesterday! LOL

Shhhhhhh! don't mention pickles...! There is only one kind I can have, and I was craving it after I moved (before I was pregnant) and we cannot get it here without a major favor from a military friend of mine who lives hours away...!

Don't do that to me... please? *begs*

I had cravings the first week after I found out I was pregnant. Then, the nausea set in, and nothing sounds appealing to me at ALL, but ice cream and suckers. I got a big bag of those DumDums suckers and it's almost gone already. My poor embryo is probably going into a sugar coma!

anyone know the rules on sushi during pregnancy?
Nothing raw, but you can have smoked meats.

I have the fixin's, but haven't had my cousin (by marriage) over just yet.. I wanted to learn how to do it after watching instructional videos since I learn better by seeing and doing.

I was that way the last couple of weeks and finally talked my DH into getting us a blender. I made iced drinks, I've made lemonaid and tea.. and sadly this brand we have - this is the second one that screws have come loose in. I have no idea why. So we have to take it back once I get it washed and exchange for a different model.

I generally take a flavored yoghurt, ice, some sprite and make something of it, OR I take yoghurt, vanilla icecream, a frozen caprisonne and milk to make a nice 'yoghurt' drink.

Those seem to stay down. As for hard candy, it looks like I will have to make mine, as we don't really have that kind of thing here that I can make sure is OK for my diet... which means investing in some candy making supplies. (Argh..!)

if i'm already up at 2am, i have cravings almost anytime! but i have only woken up 1x hungry in the middle of the night so far.
i have to go return a movie today and i'll be at the grocery store... i don't know how i'm going to keep from buying snacks! everytime i go to the grocery store, i buy stuff that is really pretty ridiculous. like when i bought a whole thing of spinach dip, but only ate like 2 bites of it! yeah, i should really not go...

My tastes are whacky.

Currently, of the meats I eat, if I try to eat chicken, I will throw up. If I don't throw up, I sit in a ball cringing and praying to throw up so my stomach will stop hurting.

I like carob stuff, but ate a carob brownie and also wanted to hurl.

I've been drinking tea by the gallons, CRAVING ice water for the first 4.5 months and craving coffee, though I double up practically crying when I drink it (ulcer.) Most ice cream turns my stomach. Craving pasta. Tuna makes me want to hurl too. Brussel sprouts I was craving, but my amazing husband made me some sprouts tonight...even made a HOMEMADE cheese sauce for them from scratch *cutest thing ever btw. It was SOOO tasty!*

Recently I've been craving chinese food, but since I cannot eat the chicken, don't like pork, have ALWAYS hated seafood, I'm left with beef, which doesn't make for the best Chinese imo. Also, eggs have been turning my stomach too.

Apple juice was a craving, and I just finished a juice box (I totally went 1st grade style and drank a juice box :D )

Dark chocolate, my downfall in a lot of things, has been added to the "this will make me go urp" list :( My dark chocolate...why!!!!?????!!!!

Fried food in general give me the same effect as chicken. I've not wanted milk a lot, which is rare, because typically I would desire it by the gallon, but even the cheap brand of fat free is $4, and it's cheaper to buy calcium pills

Bleh.
