  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Infant baptism is not in Scripture, and against that statement, there is no evidence—there is no refutation available. There is NO Scripture that advocates for the baptism of infants. Nowhere does it mention the practice. It doesn’t exist in Scripture. There is neither an example of it, nor a comment on it. It is silent, absent, non-existent...not even a hint! Therefore validity for this empty tradition is impossible...not from either the New or Old Testament.

Water baptism was a symbolism of repentance. The water from the temple as well as John's baptism were all cleaning/repentance. A baby does not repent, but at the end of the day, if a baby is baptized, what difference will it make?

We are to rid ourselves of, and avoid empty religion. Such a practice is an inference that it has a purpose. Form without power is a useless thing, and not a healthy spiritual act..in fact it borders on idolatry, acting out of worship of something extra-biblical..namely a church or doctrine that tells you it is a valid act.

Why perform a useless rite when there is something more purposeful you can do for Christ, that He actually does ask us to do?

Well if I only spent my time running around baptizing babies, you may have a relevant point. Otherwise your question can be asked of pretty much anything, but that is not my point. My point is some believe it's ok, and they will not lose their salvation over it. If you think you are doing more for the kingdom by running around telling them it's wrong, then I wonder if there's not something more purposeful you can do for Christ?

Who's running around? I was defending God's Word, giving more than adequate opportunity to someone who was declaring me a proponent of heresy to prove what he believes the Word to teach...to no avail.

My purpose is the same as yours. Preach the gospel and make disciples.

This is the topic of the thread. Is my point of view irksome? There is no wrong in speaking what I have said. It's not what I think I must do. It is what the Lord Jesus Christ would have me do that matters.

Good day...
