I'm not sure, but would it be better for a child to use a pacifier opposed to her thumb?I want to ask something, and I hope I don't offend anyone, but what is the perpose of a child over the age of one sucking on a passie? Is it just me that finds that a little off?
that is what I am talking about... the older kids... I don't understand.to me one isn't too bad as they are still quite little. Having said that if mine has one i'll try and get rid of it on their birthday or something like that.
My issue with them (and the reason why i was adament my child would not have one, until i saw how well my sister dealt with her children) is seeing a 5 year old with one!
my sister sucked two of her fingers, they had to put this fork thing in the top of her mouth to discouriage that habitfor me it's better to have a pacifier as you can throw it away whereas you can't throw a thumb away.
Also, any dentist will tell you the damage done by a child sucking their thumb once they have teeth.
And someone i went to school with still sucked him thumb at about 10 and the thumb he sucked was was smaller then the one he didn't
