• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thank you.

I can't decide. I am a Unitarian Universalist. At certain times I am more interested in one that another. For a while it was Buddhism, and now it is Christianity, which is why I am here on this forum, but I find it hard to talk to people about it because I keep getting preached to!

Namaste Maize,

funny thing, that :)

are you of a First Nation people?

shhh... don't tell anyone... but i had a UU minister perform my wedding ceremony so i could be all legal like :) it did strike me as a bit odd to see the panoply of religious symbols that they had, but it was pretty neat at the same time :)

metta,

My favorite to study is Sikhism. Sikhism has always been special to me do to the message of unity and equality for mankind.

I see this thread has turned into a religion debate instead of talking about what religions we like other than our own. This section is for discussion boards also, it doesnt always have to turn into a whose right or wrong debate. Sorry to the O.P. whose thread was hijacked by this endless battle.

If you ask me, religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and European paganism are the true religions of Satan. But that's another story.

Now as for Judaism, it includes many works that are not of God, including the Talmud and the writings of the rabbis. Personally I think that all of these works came from the same place as the Qur'an (whether that means the devil or not is up to you).

I guess I can say thanks to Satan for all my cool friends that are of all those religions. I personally have NEVER had a problem with Hindu's, Buddhist, Pagans. I rather go to hell with them than spent eternity in heaven with a bunch of judgemental closed-minded people. Guess I can thanks God for creating his angel Satan too, he did a great job creating religions that lead people to live positive and peaceful lives. This country has a lot of Satan's spawns running around yet the prisons are not populated by them.

Thank you.

No, I am not First Nation, sadly. I love the cultures and religions of the Native American groups, it's another thing I like to study.

In regards to Chirstianity, I'm very interested in the "behind the scenes" story of the compling of the Bible and the Gospels and writings of the early church that were left out. It's all very fascinating and sad how many don't know of them.

Please define "problem." A defintion of "closed-minded" (that is, in this context) would also be appreciated.

God created the world but satan seems to be ruling it. Where is God? He is on vacation since after 6 days of work! Amazing!

You dare to mock the Creator? I wouldn't! lol! You are far braver than me!God's timing is not the same timing as our's. It may have taken the Almighty God many, many years to create the earth.Satan owns MOST of the world today, God protects His children from the snares of the devil.
How long did it take your God to create the earth?

Well im not getting into a debate on this with you since the writer of the O.P. does not want this turning into a debate. I'll just keep loving my friends for who they are and not what they believe.

Yeah, statements like that might make me think less of Hinduism, and then I remember that it's just Satay.

It's difficult to say. Maybe Stoicism, if that counts as a religion. If not, then Buddhism.

I'd say that among my favorite false religions is just Christianity............

As far as normal religions....I love learning about all religions including Islam and Buddhism.

I have been VERY interested in Hinduism lately.... mostly because I would like to incorporate much of it into my current religion/spirituality.

Judaism also interests me.

And hi Maize! Saw your name and noticed there was a fellow RFer here at CF. :p
