  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, I hinge on the intent part. It's not necessarily about whether you'd make a purchase now, but whether you have the motivation to make one at all if given the opportunity. If you're going in with the mindset that 'I'll watch it all this way and won't ever buy it', then that would be wrong. But the situation of 'It's not very easy - or even possible - for me to buy it, but I would if I could' is different. The former is blatant disregard; the latter isn't.

As an aside, though, you can watch Region 1 (US/Canada) DVDs on a computer even if you're in Region 2 (it just requires some setup). Or a more reliable solution is to buy a DVD player that can handle both NTSC and PAL DVDs and the voltage differences between the two areas (like this one, for example). 'NTSC' is the system used in the US, Canada, and Japan, 'PAL' is the system used virtually everywhere else.

Hmm, okay, thank you for your post again. I really don't want to be someone who just sits at home watching anime without thinking about even supporting the people who make it. The problem with Digimon is that, particularly the older seasons, are quite old, so most of the DVDs are out of print (even those I'd have to import), and since it's not as popular in the UK as in the USA, I don't think there will be any new DVD release here (and particularly not one with subs), even of the new series. But I always want to support an anime if I can.

Thanks for your opinion, again :)

You know I'm really glad that over here in the U.S. they've started rereleasing some of these older series that the prices were through the roof like Fafnir, Fate/stay the night were great but the original boxsets just were to highly priced.

^I haven't heard of them. The next anime on my buy list is Angel Beats.

In terms of anime, I'm quite new. I've only ever seen a few series/movies - Ouran High School Host Club, Sonic X, Pokemon, Digimon, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, some episodes of Kino's Journey (I bought the volume 1 DVD), and all the Ghibli films. My brother bought Code Geass on DVD and we watched the first two episodes together. I'm a bit on the fence about it, but we're going to watch some more - I know that some shows can be really bad on their first few episodes, so I still want to give it a chance. (Not saying it was really bad, though! It was a bit "okay" rather than excellent :))

Well Fate/stay the night is semi generic action fantasy anime protagonist starts fairly weak generic power that just happens this uber power in it's initial form it was pretty good. Fafnir it's mecha anime rather similar to Neon Genesis Evangelion and RahXephon. In the case of Fate/stay the Night I'd heard about the years before but it was out print and I wasn't going to pay a couple hundred bucks for it.
I thought Code Geass was pretty good the 2nd season seemed like they slapped it together when the show did better then expected.

Also you might want to check out Crunchyroll they have both paid and free memberships and you can watch legal streams there. I don't use them that I prefer Hulu but I think that's only available in the U.S.

My all-time old school fave is Yuu Yuu Hakusho and the only that ever egged me on to write fan fic.

I have to listen to the subtitled versions. Have to. But that's just me.

I,m also fond of Space Pirate Mito. Recently I have grown to like Prince Of Tennis, Princess Tutu, and AA! My Goddess! Come to think of it, that's all old school.

If I like a series I buy it.

Any of the new series coming up this season you might be interested in?

I never follow new series, I simply don't have time. I just picks a random anime and sees if I like it or not. Majority of them I do love :)

What do people think of the new line up for the Autumn season?

This is a really awesome season so far. I haven't seen so many shows I liked going on all at once in forever. Outbreak Company, Log Horizon, Kyoukai no Kanata, Little Busters Refrain, Arpeggio, and IS 2 are all on my watchlist.
