I recently found a translation called "the Orthodox New Testament" by Holy Apostles Convent, does anyone here own this translation? Have you ever seen or heard of it before?

Dear friend:

Yes, I have a copy of The Orthodox New Testament (volumes 1 and 2)by Holy Apostles Convent. It is based on the KJV which is compared diligently to the Greek.

Amazon.com sells this book (with free shipping).

Yours truly in Christ,
Elizabeth

Whenever I get the Money I am going to get both the Evangelistrian (sp?) and Praxapostolos (sp?). But I don't know what I'm gonna do to pay for the Orthodox Old Testament. isn't it like 12 volumes?

I also use The Orthodox Study Bible published by Conciliar Press because it has footnotes and essays that The NewTestament published by Holy Apostles Convent doesn't have. I think they compliment each other.

Guess we'll all have to save money in order to purchase the Orthodox Old Testament Study Bible.

What's this Old Testament Study Bible? 12 volumes? Is it the LXX.org project or something else?

I personally can't wait for the LXX.org to come out with theirs. I've met at least 2 of the priests working on it. But I can't wait until Christmas 2005!

The Orthodox New Testament was done by the Holy Apostles Convent in Buena Vista Colorodo. I can't remember where I heard it, but the Old testament they are doing will suposedly be 12 volumes. However I could be wrong.

Dear Nickolai:

It will be nifty when you have 15 posts, because you can post links. In the meantime, please bare with the system. Have you accessed the ROAC website and/or the Holy Apostles Convent to find out more about the Old Testament on which they are working? Are they just translating the Old Testment or do they have commentaries on each book?

The other Old Testament Orthodox Study Bible is being done by the LXX project under the guidance of the Antiochian Orthodox Church.

From what I've heard both are translations from the Greek Septuagint.
