  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I was wondering if there were easily accessible documentaries about Orthodoxy? Something informative that not only goes into it's history, but also it's validity, it's tradition and it's theology? I've been doing some light google research for one but I'm not turning up much as of yet, if anybody has any recommendations I'd appreciate it!

Mysteries of the Jesus Prayer comes to mind. there is a good book that goes along with the movie as well, and it's pretty well done.

Thanks Matt I'll check it out!

You are welcome. I just started A Pilgrim's Way today, and it is very good, too. Being around monks has a way of making you second-guess your choices in life... It has made me realize how misprioritized my life is, and precious my family is...

I have this title in my library and was going to recommend also:thumbsup:

I cannot remember the name of it but one of the Baldwin brothers did a documentary on Christianity. We watched part of it at my church when we did a study on the history of Christianity. This documentary had several members of Orthodox clergy that were interviewed in it explaining history and beliefs. Does anyone else know of this documentary?

Stephen Baldwin. I think it's called "The Ancient Church." You can find it on youtube. :)
