  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm looking for some good orthodox apps, kind of like I had as catholic. Mass reading, prayers and such. I've enjoyed it quite a bit as catholic and would really like to just change it into an orthodox one. A julian one with correct readings for the correct days etc etc... :)

I have no idea if it's on Android or not, but you could search for Daily Readings and for Pray Always.

I'm not sure if you can adjust the calendar where necessary.

Good Orthodox apps in Norwegian are rare if they even exist. Perhaps I should just use my catholic app in the future as well.
It's just scripture reading I'm using anyway and it really helps me reading the bible.

English readings makes it a tad less accessible...

How about bookmarking a parish website? Are there any that have the readings you need in the language and with the calendar you need? Some things I wish for in an app I can only find on parish websites.

The Holy Trinity App referenced above is in Russian and English and is great and you can add you own Bible in Norwegian. It is great for readings, learning about the saints of the day and following the fasting rules.

I use it literally every day.

Another great one is Menologian MENOLOGION 3.0

Daily readings lite, is free has the daily readings, tells you about the fast restrictions for the day, and tells you what saints are venerated (sometimes a little info about the saints).

Engilsh Orthodox bible is an app with the old and new testament. I use it to quickly look up bible passages. Its no study bible, but its free and has a search function.

You could also send a shortcut on this or any other website to your home screen (like an app) so when you click on it it directs you to said website.

Hope this helps

You have the EOB in the OT?

I need to find that. I have the EOB but only the NT (and I bought it, iirc, for just a few dollars). I really enjoy reading it, but don't have an OT.

Edit - just woke up - maybe that's not what you mean? Lol. But I'm going to look. :)

It’s disturbing when you read all the demons in Scripture—-Beelzebub, Astoroth, Baphomet, Mordok, Shamshung. The last one is the demon of smartphones. At certain times, as a demon Shamshung has actually set his phone’s on fire!!
