I beg to differ. Science is observation of the facts. Since no one we know was alive to observe evolution, you have to take it on faith. You don't know it's true; therefore you believe it to be so.
Ever watch CSI on TV? No one is there to observe the crime, yet we can figure out what happened and don't need to take it on faith.

The key is cause and effect: the present is the way it is because the past was the way it was. Life on earth looks the way it does because it evolved. If life had been specially created, it would look very different.

THe problem is that:
Rom:5:12: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

If death didn't enter until Adam's sin, how do you get millions of years of evolution?
Genesis 2:18 says that Adam would die "in the day" that he ate of the fruit. Adam lived to be 930 years old! The "death" referred to by Paul and Genesis is not physical death, but spiritual.

Notice that Paul says "for that all have sinned". They can't have sinned just because of Adam, because the Bible forbids the sins of the fathers to pass to the sons. Deut. 24:16 , 2Chron.25:54, Ezek. 18:20. Paul is using Adam the way the authors of Genesis 2 meant him to be used: as an archetype to stand for each and every one of us. Spiritual death enters into each of us because each of us sins. We are each of us "Adam" and each will be atoned by the death of one man -- Jesus. God doesn't have to atone for each of us with a separate death. One death for all.

Evolution is based on the observation of facts, just as any other science. You are confusing observing evidence left by events with observing the events themselves. Scientific study and its demand for repeatable observations does not require that only event that can be diretly observed can be used as data or facts. If that was true, one would have to say that cell theory, gravity, and nuclear theory are all beliefs taken on faith.

We can observe the evidence of evolution in the fossil record, in the DNA, and in the distribution of life on the planet and from these observations, we can prepare a supported theory that explains that evidence.

The theory of evolution explains the evidence we see in the fossil record that life on this planet was much different in the past and the evidence we see in DNA that shows that species are related in specific ways and that all DNA had a common source, and went through similar development and mutation across the species divide.

There is no other theory that accurately describes this evidence that is directly observable.
