Isa 56:4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;

Mat 19:11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
Mat 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Isa 56:3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
Isa 56:4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
Isa 56:8 The Lord GOD, which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.

Dear wildfire,
Sabbathis the seventh HEBREW day , not the seventh ROMAN day as I explained in great detail in the article at the top of this posting, please read why it CANNOT be Saturday or Sunday, but must start at sunset Jerusalem for the whole of mankind at the SAME TIME in the posting above.

Dear SenseiPiccolo,
The sabbath was sanctified, made holy, that means it is DISTINCT from other days for God's PURPOSE, so we cannot have sabbath every day until God's holy rest when it is light all the time, so there are no more 'sunsets'.
For now we have six other Hebrew days in which to labour, but only one original holy sabbath ,sign of God, a blessing to any man who CHOOSES to keep it... for it was made a blessing for man [not man for it].

Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the SABBATH from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Isa 56:3 Neither let the son of the STRANGER, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.

well, I think Sabbath is importnat for us to keep, but not in the way that "religious" men at the time Jesus lived. God gave us a day to rest, and thank God that we don't have to be in school every Sunday:) I like to just do something that I maybe don't have time to do any other day, like take a long walk and just talk with God. I would like to walk on the ice(it's winter here right now), or walk in the forest every day but there's no time...so keep the Sabbath on SUNDAY, it's right all this with Roman time and so on, and spend the day with God. However, doesn't the Sabbath begin Saturday 6 p.m.? Didn't Jews start the Sabbath Friday 6 p.m.?

Dear Louisbooth,
If you read my artivcle at the head of this posting you will see why we dont HAVE to keep sabbath, but we CAN receive the blessing oNLY by keeping Gods hole [separate distinct] day if we cHOOSE to... sabbath was made for man as Jesus said [and God blessed the day UNCONDITIONALLY [apart from knowing when it is !] long before declaring the law (see at the top of this column)

Dear LouisBooth,
my point is that sabbath was made for man BEFORE the covenant.
ONLY the Hebrews were COMMANDED to KEEP sabbath , but ANYONE could accept the blessing and still can... it has nothing to do with the old covenant and so that waxing old with Christ bringing in the new covenant is totally irrelevant to receiving the blessing of sabbath, BUT knowing WHEN it is , that is hIGHLY RELEVANT, as God said the other six Hebrew days were for labour and His sabbath is a holy (distinct, separated) day for His purpose AND a SIGN [mark] between Him and His!

Umm...I want a day to relax...but I don't have to relax on that day if I don't want to. I think you need to read romans chapter 14 "He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord..." now read the other verse (previous ones.."One man considers one day more sacred than another'another man considers every day alike...."

I think the passage clearly says that you don't have to keep the sabbath. :)

Dear Louisbooth,
As my original post says [see top of this posting :wave: ] ,no-one has to keep sabbath, it is just an unconditional blessing made for man [only Israel were COMMANDED to keep it ,and {even} they can turn to the new covenant for forgiveness through Jesus Christ like any man moved by God to do so]

Keep whatever day you like, :sleep: , but the sabbath of God is defined in the Bible as I have shown, an unconditional blessing :) to any who take up the offer of a [Hebrew-style, not Roman] day made for man, a holy :holy: belssing, a day separated and distinct from days meant only for labour [thus not substitute rest days... six days shalt thou labour shows this although once again that is not a command, but an option :rolleyes: ]

Also there is Isaiah chap 56 et seq
about the significance of the holy SIGN between God and His people [but you don't have to keep God's sign, it is perhaps only for the few who wish to make a stand against evil for sake of a better redemption, certainly not everyone can be bothered with a perpetual sign of God]
:(

Isa 56:1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
:clap:

"The scriptures tell us that faith does NOT make the law void. "

Yes, that is true, it doesn't make it void, it makes it a guide to how to live, but it is not REQUIRED that we keep it. That is what a group of people called the judizers said and Paul responded with the letter to the galatians saying we don NOT have to keep the law.

Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
Isa 58:10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:
Isa 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
Isa 58:12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Isa 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
Isa 66:24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

lets look what Paul says about "special days"

In chapter 14 of romans Paul goes out of his way to say no food is unclean in and of itself. This seems to contradict law doesn't it? Well if you finally undersand what Paul is saying we know that we are free from keeping the law in order to have salvation. It is good for us to keep? Yes, it is! Do we have to keep it? No we don't the only thing we have to do is Love God and love others. All the rest is, as they say, details. Thus Paul's statement in verse 6 of chapter 14 (he is refering to christians when he says, "One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers everyday alike." I'm free from the confines of the law, how about you? I live for God, that's all I'm "required" to do, no special days. ;)

Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man...

Isa 56:4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

----Not especially impressed with the idea that Christ gives us freedom to willfully sin either, Paul speaks aginst this interpretation of his words.
