Since I have ignored a lot of the spam that was going on here from various members, I have to look to what is written as a response to these people's posts to get the gist of the conversation and this is a good thing.

I agree with my brothers here. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Satan fell like lightning from heaven because of his inordinate pride. It is inordinate pride that will cause a man to be sensual. Here I am referring to the idea of relying only on one's senses, one's own capacities or abilities. That self-dependency and self-sufficiency that sends men straight to hell.

The man possessed of inordinate pride essentially shakes his fist at God and at Christ and says to Him on the cross, "I have no need of your sacrifice! I can handle this on my own, and I don't need anyone or anything other than my own self, for I am sufficient unto myself."

God simply says, "Ok, have it your way."

Such a man has such a high view of himself that his view of God is to that degree the opposite. Very low. A low view of God will drastically affect one's view of sin. Sin is excused, rationalized away, or simply dismissed out of hand as an old fashioned notion.

The whole "evil is the lack of good" thing is rather nonsensical when you think about it. There are plenty of situations...plenty of instances that lack any "goodness" and you wouldn't call anyone evil for it. Likewise, there are plenty of things done which people would describe as evil that either also include some good or have nothing to do with good altogether....and cannot lack it in some way.

I would focus more on the sense of deprivation and malformation. Yes, there are plenty of things which are neither good nor bad.

Well not only that...but we have bad things which aren't an absence of good. They're just bad and there's not much else to it.

Take for example, an organ donor. We generally look at it as a really good thing when someone donates a kidney to save the life of another. Does that mean when someone doesn't donate (absence of good) that we look at it is bad? Some might...but from what I've found many (if not most) look at it as a personal choice that you're entitled to make. People don't necessarily see non-donors as "bad".

I value truth. My worldview was turned upside down when God caused me to born again from above. In light of this, my worldview is the one true worldview and therefore there is nothing that could show it to be false.

You are implying that we are presented with a clear choice: either we want to have a relationship with this entity or we do not. However, considering that the very existence of this entity is in doubt, that is far from an accurate depiction of the situation.
