  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've been having horrible back pain the last day or so that comes and goes. Timed it, it isn't regular or anything even with my stomach perking up with it.

I noticed about 2 hours ago, my belly has dropped and it's lost it's round shape for a more tear drop shape.

How long was it between when your belly dropped and going into active labor?

For me, it was a couple weeks, but the back pain does sound like it could be labor.

I've had a few people tell me I've dropped (although I can't see or feel a difference) and at my last appointment I had not started to dialate and I'm not effaced at all. I don't feel like I'm ready... I think I still have several more weeks. For some reason I feel like I'm going to be late (no rhyme or reason as to why, just a feeling).. so that puts me at 4+ weeks.

Usually about 2 weeks...but it's all so random...sometimes a change in shape of your belly is baby engaging and rotating are really getting ready. Sometimes it's just head engaging, but not yet rotated to optimal birthing position.

Linnis- one thing is for sure - your baby will be born in the next few weeks!! I was so overjoyed as I flipped my calendar to October- I did a Linnis is still pregnant dance!

my stomach dropped last Friday and I'm STILL waiting... I can't take this much longer because it's hard to walk and I'm tired of having to use those electric shopping carts at walmart. My dr wants me to go another week and a half and I was dialated to two centimeters on Thursday.

Don't fret, he'll be here before you know itand you're almost 37 weeks which is considered term:clap:

Hmmm.... I don't remember dropping.... actually I don't know if I did? Do all first time moms do that?

But back pains can be labor... actually earlier this week I was a bit worried I was having preterm contractions because I was having back pain on and off every 5 minutes... so I looked up some information and found that I had pain in my sciatic nerve in my back.... drank some water and soon after my legs started cramping which confirmed it. It did seem contractionish though.

No, but I am loosing lots of white slimy stuff, that was pink once yesterday.
I had a lot of that white slimey stuff for about 10 days before I had Liam though I never got the pinkish discoloration until the day before.

Wednesday I'll have an exam and see where we stand, if I don't go into labor by then. What sucks is this is the first OB appointment my husband can't go to. I have this fear of having to call him at work from the L&D floor. Good thing my doc's office is right across the street from the hospital.
