CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We're kicking off a 40 Days of Purpose campaign at my church and I'm small group leader 
That pretty much covers my weekends, and weedays, for the next 40 days!
And I'm doing my membership affirmation on Oct. 10 to officially become a member of my church!

We talked about doing the 40 days of Purpose. We did 1 small group last year and wanted to do it with many small groups this fall, but for some reason, it was never followed through on. I guess too many other things going on. I hope it goes well for you.

We did the 40 Days of Purpose thing at our church this spring. Personally, I didn't get a whole lot out of it. It was all stuff I had known about or doing on one level or another already. And I think they did it backwards--showed the video for the coming weeks readings instead of what you had just finished reading. Would have made for better discussions and allowed questions bruoght up by the reading to be voiced.
Does that mean I'd already found my purpose?

PS:--as for what I'm doing this weekend---I'm trying to crochet an afghan out of 2 shades of mauve, in 35 7inch squares. Personnally I think it is ugly, but it is not for me. It is a pattern I am testing for a publishing company, so I just keep telling myself "you don't have to like it, you're getting paid!"
Does that mean I'd already found my purpose?

You could come see me--I'll introduce you to my hubby and kids, 2 cats, a beagle and a bloodhound. The bloodhound may even play hide and seek with you--but you'd have to do the hiding.
Then we could show you the race track, the Birth Place of Country Music Museum and the International Storytellers Center.Celtie
