  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ooo! That Smell!

Do micro-plastics enter our bodies form the foods we eat, or from the environment or other means? Explain to me like I'm five, please.

Science was never my strong suit.

Mostly from foods.

The average human body has all kinds of non-biologic material in it. The average person has quite a bit of mineral oil in their bodies, for instance, especially among women.

Thanks for the response.

That's what I was thinking as well, but I didn't know for sure.

Why is there mineral oil in the body and especially among women?

Just curious.

it's not something I've ever considered but greater use of apparently cosmetics by women might be one source.

There is strong evidence that mineral oil hydrocarbons are the greatest contaminant of the human body, amounting to approximately 1 g per person.

Conclusions: The increase in MOSH concentration in human fat tissue with age suggests an accumulation over time. Cosmetics might be a relevant source of the contamination.

But compared to the number of bacteria in our body who cares? There are more bacteria in our bodies than cells.

Thoroughly revised estimates show that the typical adult human body consists of about 30 trillion human cells and about 38 trillion bacteria.
