  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

OOC:Face of Evil

Well, I'm back after my two-day vacation, and it gave me time to think of one piece of information I forgot, time. More specifically, the schedules of the people of Janus Island. The biggest problem that confronted me was sleep. When are the Janas asleep, When are the Geminin asleep, how does a day work, ect.?Here are the answers, I hope.
A day will be, for simplicities sake, 24 hours, split into twelve hours of light, ten hours of dark, two hours of dawn/dusk. For simplicity, it will work like this: dawn will start at 6A, day is 7A-7P, 7P is dusk, then 8P-6P is night. The one exception is that 1:00AM is midnight, because it is the middle of the night time.
Now, sleeping. There are several different ways in which the people split their time. The majority split the day into two parts, the Geminin take the 'morning' time (1:00am-1:00pm), the Janas take the 'evening' (1:00pm-1:00am). Each is awake for twelve hours and asleep for twelve hours. A few people spilt it into 3 parts, one takes 8, the other 16. It would go something like Gem-8, Jan-8, Gem-8. The next day, they would switch. Some do six hour periods, going G-J-G-J, and a few, rare job types will split it into four hour periods, Geminin starting the day at 1:00AM. Also, some, like rogue and rangers in particular, just get sleep whenever they get a chance, since they can't just sleep somewhere that would be dangerous. And some, naturally, are just sparatic in their sleep, 4 hours here, 6 there, 15 there. There are lots of ways that the people split up their days, but in general, most people split it into two 12-hour periods as listed above.
If someone is awake more than 12 hours at a time, they start to become tired.
Ok, I think that covers it. Oh, that's right. At this time, it is about 6PM. Ok, NOW I think that covers it. If you have any questions, as always, ask away, because I'm sure there are other things I forgot.

All right. due to some problems with people not receiving PMs, I will now list people to whom I sent PMs to. If your name appears, but you did not get one, let me know somehow.
Today, I sent PMs to:
Paladin Dave
Locket

If you two did not receive them, let me know, please.

OK, I finally did it. Here is a basic map of Janus Island. It only has bigger cities on it, because, well, it is most likely a shipping map. The big thing in the middle is my attempt at the Great Mountain. The smaller things make up the line of impassible mountains. The black line is the line of No-Passage, the point at which sailors are not to cross. Anyway, this gives you a basic of what things look like.

Also, I sent out a PM to Paladin Dave.

No, Eral is the name of the city. There are plenty of possibilities as to why they share the same name. On my side, mostly coincidence. I was typing up the names, and for that one, I started out with "Era", so I figured that I would just make it Eral and leave it to you to come up with why. As far as the city, well, I'll say that it was named after some famous person in the past, or after the wife or daughter of the founder, or something to that effect.
As to where everyone lives, Lana and Kao obviously calls Kariman home, and Aqy probably would too, but he feels more like he has no home. Everyone else can decide where your characters live.

Well, you have to remember, they find it more as two in one. The Geminin feels as if they are one with the Janas, and vise-versa, so they don't really mind someone listening in on their thoughts, as well as commenting on them(well, they usually don't mind someone commenting on them).

OK, I am truly sorry, but things have come up which are going to keep me offline for the next couple of months. I will only be able to be on about once a week for only a few hours, at most. I appreciate your patience with me.
I am afraid that this will indeed slow down production of FOE by quite a good deal. However, I do not intend to let this die. If anyone wishes to jump out, I will understand, but I would be sad to see you go.
I DO have daily access to e-mail, however. If someone would like to email me the updates to the thread, I could keep up on things in a more regular basis. Then, in my spare time, or in dead time between tasks, I can think of a responce to the posts. I would very much appreciate this, if anyone would be willing to do so. If not, things will have to plod along at a slower pace. My e-mail address should be on my profile.
Once again, I do thank you for your patience. I hate when unforeseen roadblocks come up, but it cannot be helped. Do not think that I have been idle, though. I have continued to think about this, and several different directions in which I wish to take it. However, due to my longer periods of absence, I will be relying on you more to write longer passages. Remember, you have just as much say as I do save in one point, the main plot. Thank you again

Ok, sooo, one minor adjustment. My profile e-mail was an old e-mail address, and therefore was no good. However, now I have put up my new, current one, so if anyone has questions, or comments, or whatever, drop a line, and I will get back to you, though not necessarily in a timely manner.

Update on me: Still very little time, and things are starting to look busier. I will try to keep to my one night a week, but I cannot make any promises as the time progresses. Keep a friend of mine in prayer. The mother of the man she loves has cancer, and it does not look promising. None of them are saved, to my knowledge, and I think this could be the oppertunity I have been asking for. I appreciate this.

Danke schoen, meine Freundin.

Update: little time and getting less. Business levels increasing to criticals. This is one of the lower end priorities, so if I start getting too busy, I may miss a week or two. Don't give up on me, though. I love you and this place, and this story too, too much just to give up on you all. I'll be back to full action in about 8-10 weeks. Until then, bear with me. Thanks again.
Oh, and you can e-mail me now, I think I worked out all the kinks.

Ok, I have returned. Now it is time to revive Face of Evil.

Plot update: Since it has been a while, let me refresh everyone's memory. First, Aqy just had a dream of sorts after falling over the docks. He was rescued by Jarvis. Brok and Jarvis took him back to the warehouse, where he woke up. Jarvis joined, against Brok's wishes. They are all heading back to Crosswind's Marketplace with the cargo.
That's the review, now the future. Once they all return to the market, they will fall alseep after a quick reunion. Of course, that means than the Geminin are going wake up. Their main goal is to assemble at Gollae (See the map above if you need a refresher). I don't know where all of them live, but it may take them several days, but they will begin their preparations and head out. Meanwhile, the Janas will also prepare and make their way to Southport. One small note, one of the items in the supplies was a walkie-talkie style devise that lets the Geminin talk with the Janas. It works by using a stone with a natural vibratory pusle. By splitting the stone in two, they can be used to send harmonics through each other, with a little extra power.
Anyway, Zofia and Aqy will have a short discussion. Then, I guess I will end out the chapter. Sound like a plan?
