This sounds like The Church of Joseph Smith rather than the Church of Jesus Christ.

Inclusion of this in the hymnal encourages others to sing these words and is an endorsement of such sentiments.

I'm sure that you want it to sound like that. During a previous discussion, I searched through non-LDS hymns and found that there were a fair amount of them that gave recognition of one sort or another to men and women. So the non-LDS do this as well.

I guess there are people that cannot seperate the concepts and practices of worship from mere recognition of mortal men doing the Lord's work. That's unfortunate.

Cite the hymns, hymnal and post lyrics.

Without documentation your assertion is unproven.

You know, if you actually engaged in the same kind of effort with such "minutia" with your own religion and the Bible, you would no longer be a Christian.

Anything can be made to look "bad" if you dig deep enough and then always promoting it as the "truth".... Such a shame and a waste of talent. :(

This is exactly so and something I point out all the time. It is easy enough to find fault with anything. People found fault with Jesus and He was perfect. And I am constantly seeing arguments that are every bit as applicable against the non-LDS christians as they are against us. Does that make them valid? No. It just demonstrates a willingness to ignore their own argument when its turned around on them.

I want to say that this is the reason my faith in the LDS Church is stronger after my being introduced to these attacks against our doctrines. If they can't come up with real arguments that will disprove the church then I'm in the right place.

Find the thread where they were discussed and knock yourself out with them. I'm not going back and do the research again; I've posted it once already.

I do not see you answering the arguments with evidence.

You made the assertion in THIS thread that non-LDS hymnals have these. Prove it.
