Does anyone use it? Have any pastors considered it? What are pros and cons in your view?

Chhers,

I'd say about 30 to 40 % of the Pastors use the One-year over the three year. More for the sake of tradition than anything else. The three year gives you more pericope's with which to preach than the one-year.

My percentages may be off and I am sure the someone like DaRev or Filosofer could probably give you better reasons

I would say that the percent using it is less than 30%, more like 10-15%.

There are advatanges to all the pericope systems. The one year series provides stability and familiarity, emphasizing the Trinity season. The three year series exposes the congregation to a greater percent of the Bible (I think about 65-70% of whole Bible).

A good rotation is to use the three year lectionary (Note: LSB lectionary is different than LW lectionary) for nine years; which means you can preach on each reading once. Then switch to the One year series for three years, then go to the three year series.

Of course, there is a German lectionary that has a six year series. And another system uses two Gospel readings for each Sunday.

In Christ's love,
