The laws that need to be passed to insure minorities are given civil rights won't be passed in their are no minorities in congress.

How many women were in the Senate and House when Amendment 19 was proposed? How many extremely poor were there when 24 was proposed? How many blacks when 13 and 15 were proposed? How many 18 year olds when 26 was proposed? And those are all amendments to our consitution, the high law of the land.

I fail to see your point.

Just because you fail to see it doesnt mean it doesn't exist.
The above listed amendments weren't confused as moral issues, they were issues of humanity, therefore the "marol majorities" relgious beliefs weren't involved in making the decisions.

I'll stop making such a big issue when i am not constantly discriminated against just because I am gay. As for now, it's a huge deal to have one more person in congress on my side.

Im curious how you yourself are being discriminated against?

I find it interesting that so many bigots are the first to rant and rave about the evils of homosexuality, but are often not virgins themselves, or rarely condemn fornication.

I was married at age 32. Was a virgin until then and so was my wife.

And yes, Sex before married is a sin.

IF YOU HAVE HAD SEX BEFORE YOU MARRAIGE, YOU NEED TO REPENT!

there. would that suffice?;)

Slavery didn't involve moral issues? If you don't think religous beliefs entered in to those votes, then you are wrong. Just because someone is a homosexual doesn't mean they are going to support "pro-homosexual" legeslation. Kolbe voted for DOMA. Just because someone is straight doesn't mean they will oppose it (64 straight people voted against DOMA). Minority rights have always appealed to more than those in the minority and don't always appeal to all in the minority.

BTW - wasn't Don Carcieri elected gov of Rhode Island and isn't he straight?

The bible condoned slavery.

And yes Don was elected gov of R.I. and he is openly gay.

But lets do this.

What happens in a sexual act between two men?  It this described as pleasure?

What about two women?
I will stop this right away if this is not proper questioning.

I don't see what this has to do with GLBT's being represented in congress.

So the majority at the time didn't believe the Bible or if not, why was it abolished?

Oh, I thought you were saying he was a congressman. Also, I haven't been able to find anything were he says he is gay. I know he's married and I think one of his daughters is gay, but where does he talk about being gay? I'm not doubting you, I just think its odd that the Log Cabin Republicans or the HRC never mentioned him being a gay politician.

I guess because you say people condemn you for being gay. So i thought i would try to define it somewhat in a different manner.

Im not trying to be crude. I think these were legitimate questions.

However, gays and lesbians being represented really has no effect on me, except that how i believe this effects God's blessing on this nation. Its just one more thing that represents to me that God will withhold his blessings on the great USofA. But effecting me, i dont see it really.

Maybe i am wrong, but i dont see where condoning homosexuality is a moral stance that i am supposed to take as a Christian.

It is a shame that i or anyone else would treat someone different because they are homosexual. There are places where i do think homosexuals should be treated differently. Wanting a position at a church is one. You would be discriminated against and rightfully so.
