  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello everyone, just joined the forum. Here's a bit about me:
  • Met the Lord at university in the 70s as I was preparing to undertake graduate studies in Astrophysics. Needless to say He changed the direction of my life!
  • Encountered the Vineyard movement in the early 80s and have been blessed ever since by John Wimber's teaching and early Vineyard worship.
  • Started a bunch of homegroups and house churches with my wife from mid-80s to mid-2000s. Did a church-planting internship, equipped and provided oversight for ministry teams, went on ministry trips overseas, provided counsel and support to pastors, was briefly on worship team with Andy Park, did baptisms, marriage counselling, wrote worship songs, led Bible studies, etc etc etc
  • Started a business in the late 90s with my wife writing books and whitepapers for Microsoft and other software companies. Business has now wound down a bit but still running, see our website mtit.com.
  • Experienced a fresh baptism/filling of the Spirit about 7 years ago which has been drawing me back towards ministry involvment after a hectic 20 years running a business.
  • Recently started writing a series of free ebooks to help build up the Church. The first of these ebooks is titled "House Church: A Survival Guide" and you can get it from our ministry website buildplant.org. Further ebooks planned on topics like discipleship, personal evangelism, small group worship etc and all will be free in PDF and EPUB format.
That's about it :)

Blessings, everyone and nice to be here.

Welcome! My wife and I have been visiting a Vineyard church. Moved last year and are in the church search process. Still have a few we're visiting, but we do like the church. I get the impression there is a wide variety of styles these days through the Vineyard community.
