Are there anything to see in Tahlequah, OK? My son lives in NM and travels across OK when he comes to visit us in Alabama. When I go to visit him, I wanted to stop in Tahlequah, OK. My husband and sons are part Cherokee and I wanted to visit the Cherokee region there. I've been to Cherokee, NC to their Cherokee Indian Museum and I've read that Tahlequah has a Cherokee museum, also. My husband's people just did escape the Trail of Tears but alot of the Alabama Cherokees did end up in OK. I'm interested in the heritage and cultural part, too along with seeing the scenery. Oh, and how far is Tahlequah from the interstate? (I-40)? (The interstate that goes across the state of OK, east to west).

There are many things in Tahlequah, for one, the Cherokee nation, this is like the white house of the Cherokee's. There are many museum, the trail of tears museum, Old court house, Cherokee village and lake Tenkiller. There are many things there. Alot of history! Check out the website for the nation. http://www.cherokee.org

Tahlequah is about 20 miles off of I-40. 30 mins away. I used to live in this town and just loved it, I miss the town alot. Had to move for a job, I sobbed, when I had to leave.

I was born and raised in Bartlesville. It's still a beautiful and wonderful little town after all these years. The entire state as a whole is so friendly and beautiful and I always feel like I'm home when I visit. :)
